Beijing urged to mobilise its troops in anticipation of Korean War ‘between now and March

“WAR on the Korean Peninsula might break out anytime between now and March next year,” a senior former official in China’s military has warned.

The Global Times, the English-language outlet of the Beijing government mouthpiece People’s Daily China, reports Lieutenant General Wang Gongguang warning of the need to be ‘mentally prepared for it anytime’.
“China should be psychologically prepared for a potential Korean War, and the Northeast China regions should be mobilised for that,” he says.

Not sure why its so specific of between now and March?

Once war erupts, South Korea will be the most damaged, followed by China, Wang said, adding that there will be a huge risk of being exposed to nuclear contamination and earthquakes.

“Such mobilisation is not to launch a war, but for defensive purposes,” he said.

The Global Times reported ‘military expert and TV commentator’ Song Zhongping as adding there needed to be preparations for refugees and any ‘spillover’ of conflict.
“Defensive action could lead to engagement if US action on the Korean Peninsula threatens China’s core interests,” the publication quotes Song as saying.

Its getting real folks and now Kim has ICBM`s, most of us could be in danger.

Your link is bad, so hard to read the source article. Looks like it was yanked.

Kind'a foreboding to say between now and March tho.. Wonder what the trigger will be, and who will pull it.

I'm in Tokyo for Xmas/New Years and am hoping to do a day trip to Seoul around Jan 7th. So, if they could hold off until after then I'd be thankful.

I'll try and get a heap of pics/movies and upload them here...

If this happens China will try to also use the crisis to make a grab for Taiwan.

And when March passes and nothing , China gonna move Doomsday up a few more months ? They starting to sound like some of these preachers with their tales of Armageddon...
Well, we recalculated and fixed the errors. The new Doomsday will happen on March 28th 2600

Alternative news? Would be good to varify if China officially made these statements....if only I could surf in Chinese.

I've often wondered why China does not just do a covert take over of NK. It would be a logical land grab no?

I don't know if it's connected, but the Koreas are very dependent on rice. Rice grows in paddies. You can't move 40 feet (it seems) up in the Western Corridor (northern South Korea) without stepping in a rice paddy, a canal, or a road.

Winter is invasion season and all the paddies are frozen (drained) and armor has the best maneuverability.

March should begin the monsoon season which means several months of rain and no chance of getting the armor across that area.

Just my guess at least.

If a war does start, maybe its China's way of saying "So sorry, China had nothing to do with this."

As an afterthought, how did NK get all the tech to build these weapons. Working nuclear weapons and a delivery system that is a comparable to the systems of other nuclear countries. I would suspect China. Because the US has been turning the heat on about China's building of artificial islands to disrupt trade and control the South China Sea.

The war games have been delayed to March.
It's also spring. Spring is a good time to war.

The rocket technology might come from Unkraine around about 2012-13. Guess who was deeply involved in Ukraine at that time....... The US.

It wouldent suprice me that the US gave Nk a bit of help so that the US could get reason to target NK..... Like they are now 5 years later.

You have heard the saying. Create the problem, and then come up with a solution?

this seems very logical if they actually have enough armoured mobile ballistics that could get past the border. It will be a tic tac toe race!
