Hello there good peoples..

I come to yous today with some disturbing news. This has had me immensely concerned for the last few days, and what is more I haven't yet seen it posted here! I did do a search...

This is important! This is a massive violation of privacy and free speech. Twitter is one of the fastest ways to spread word out about a cause. I note the timing for this is impeccable, given the current Deep State war going on. This is NOT good. This affects peoples human rights and everyone should be in uproar! Talk about complete monopoly and control!

And as usual this is not being reported by the MSM!

In perhaps the most intrusive move of social media platforms' efforts signal as much virtue as possible and appease their potentially-regulating government overlords, Twitter has announced that it is cracking down on what it defines at hate-speech and not just by looking at its own site.

In what amounts to a major shift in Twitter policy, Mashable's Kerry Flynn reports that the company announced on Friday that it will be monitoring user's behavior "on and off the platform" and will suspend a user's account if they affiliate with violent organizations, according to an update to Twitter's Help Center on Friday.

Abusive Behavior

We believe in freedom of expression and open dialogue, but that means little as an underlying philosophy if voices are silenced because people are afraid to speak up. In order to ensure that people feel safe expressing diverse opinions and beliefs, we prohibit behavior that crosses the line into abuse, including behavior that harasses, intimidates, or uses fear to silence another user’s voice.

Context matters when evaluating for abusive behavior and determining appropriate enforcement actions. Factors we may take into consideration include, but are not limited to whether:

- the behavior is targeted at an individual or group of people;
- the report has been filed by the target of the abuse or a bystander;
- the behavior is newsworthy and in the legitimate public interest.

Violence: You may not make specific threats of violence or wish for the serious physical harm, death, or disease of an individual or group of people. This includes, but is not limited to, threatening or promoting terrorism.

You also may not affiliate with organizations that - whether by their own statements or activity both on and off the platform - use or promote violence against civilians to further their causes.

Abuse: You may not engage in the targeted harassment of someone, or incite other people to do so. We consider abusive behavior an attempt to harass, intimidate, or silence someone else’s voice.

Hateful conduct: You may not promote violence against, threaten, or harass other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease.

Hateful imagery and display names: You may not use hateful images or symbols in your profile image or profile header. You also may not use your username, display name, or profile bio to engage in abusive behavior, such as targeted harassment or expressing hate towards a person, group, or protected category.

At times, we may prevent certain content from trending.

So any alternative views, information etc that DOESN'T fit in with the planned MSM narrative will be silenced! I have a funny feeling even visiting sites likes ATS/reddit/the Chans/voat etc will have you lose your account. This is criminal and it it disgusting. I feel sick.

Interesting this is happening shortly, given the situation with the Deep State. Looks like they've found a way to silence Trump!

For those following the QAnon theory - this is really bad news!! And it directly ties in with the most recent Q communications!

Big brother is when everything you like, think and do is controlled and watched. If you step out with the box Big brother wants you in, you get silenced and don't get a voice.

Hello Oldtimer2..

I am not a progressive btw. Just using some other form of social media doesn't work. Twitter is the quickest and best way to alert people to serious issues, particularly those that aren't covered in MSM.

I don't use it for social stuff. I don't really do social stuff on the internet. I socialize in real life and use the internet as a tool to communicate with others, share IMPORTANT information and watch whats going on in the world. Oh and learn.

I only use Twitter when an important serious issue comes to light, that is either being suppressed or censored. People have the right to view all info and then make an educated and informed decision.

I am not whining. If you are an older person then maybe you don't fully understand just how dangerous and damaging this will be for our society. It hugely violates our rights. This is only the beginning. I feel sad for you if you don't see this.

The only other platform I know of which seems sounds is Gab. Similar in sorts to Twitter. Since this news broke there has been a huge push for people to go over to Gab. Many other social media platforms are compromised to.

The point being, a) we have a right to free speech. b) it means Twitter can easily decide whats views and narratives are allowed, which means those corps and people who have stocks and shares in Twitter control the narrative to their own agendas. c) we have a right to privacy off line. d) this means any important info or issue that is not compliant with the established narrative just won't be there..

For Europeans, we should make sure that we complain about this... New regulation from May 2018 makes it illegal for Twitter to do this if you opt out (and they must provide an easy way to opt out). Failure on their part to comply with users wishes can lead to a fine of 4% of global turnover or 20million euros, whichever is greater.. for each complaint the regulators persue.

Twitter permanently banned Tim "Treadstone" Gionet, a prominent alt-right troll more widely known as Baked Alaska, earlier this week. It also removed the verification badges of Jason Kessler, one of the organizers of the racist Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, and of alt-right activist Richard Spencer.

The part in bold is a bit concerning...if they don't agree with what you say, good luck getting your message heard by the masses. Didn't youtube do that as well? Demonetizing and such?

the billionaire Saudi prince recently arrested for corruption has a large controlling stake in twitter, right around when he was arrested trumps twitter experienced a momentary shutdown/deletion, twitter called it a rogue spiteful employee,

the "Q" rumor mill is saying that moment trumps twitter went down was actually an attempt by twitter to enforce these new methods on trumps account, supposedly the attempt failed, so instead they are rolling it out as a feature for all users so it will end up on trumps account anyway, supposedly this will allow twitter to track trumps location making it unsafe for potus to use which will likely force him to stop using twitter so he cant reach the people directly without the media filter.

if the tracking thing is a bust, twitter banning right ideologies is likely to be the majority of trumps followers which well censor him just the same.

Relax! If your service provider does not like Facebook's censorship, they can censor it in turn. The Trump administration has revoked "net neutrality." If ATS doesn't toe the line, it will take forever to load.

That is precisely what I am worried about. DJTs Twitter account is the only way he can communicate to the masses and other groups or orgs without his message being snipped/spliced/edited to fit a totally different narrative.

Its all massively concerning. I've been on Twitter the last few weeks and they've censored hashtags, shadow banned people, completely banned people, suspended accounts, delete tweets etc. All mainly related to QAnon, P####gate, Elite Cabal, Pedo, Wikileaks, Assange etc. And they also censor any hashtag with Madeliene McCann..

But Twitters new rules will make this issue worse! So you go on sites Twitter might not like whilst off line and boom you're gone from Twitter. Just because you read something doesn't always necessarily mean you agree or disagree with its content! Ludicrous behaviour..

Yes YT has indeed already done that.

Precisely my point. There will be no way of reaching a large audience via a popular social media platform! Gah......

My first ever tweet was to Trump, and I was banned for two weeks...for a joke.

I can't remember the exact tweet but was about Trump's proposed wall and how China could say 'mine is bigger than yours.' Yes that was a double entrendre but there was no malice, no cursing, no racism-just a joke.

Thankfully we have ATS where our thoughts cannot be stifled or overtly scrutinized by the MSM who exploit social media and search it with a fine toothed comb.

It is ludicrous it really is. Amazingly enough I so far have been getting away with tweeting hilarious apt memes to high profile figures - I have had one removed only so far. And that was tweeting directly at Podesta!

Twitter was a hugely powerful tool (now only powerful to the TPTB) being able to directly communicate with world leaders and trend topics in minutes.. Incredible. Not so much now though.
