Finally made an account, and have some questions about our sky lately.

Hello all,

I have been lurking here on and off for 7 years now, and have recently been running into questions that I cannot find answers for on the Internet. And with the huge wealth of knowledge all you member's have between you, I figured this is the best place for me to come.

I'm a male in my 50's and work in palliative care, also I do voluntary work in Africa once a year.
I was married until this year, no children, and a beautiful dog that will always love me 😊

My general interests are;
Acoustic guitar
Self improvement
Benevolence
Reading
Documentaries
Poker
Pool
Boxing
MMA
Youtube
And most importantly my beautiful little sausage dog

My main interests on ATS are;
Some conspiracies
Science
Space
The sky (the main reason i joined today)
Breaking news & alternative news
Weather
Advanced civilisations
Technology
And general discussions.

I avoid all politics, as there enough people to argue about that without me getting involved.
And I also avoid ignorant people and bigots.

That's it I think, looking forward to reading your posts and hearing your opinions very soon.

I wasn't sure this was the right place to mention it, but as you asked so nicely

3 nights ago I was walking my dog and stopped to admire the beautiful sunset, it really was quite something. Anyway nothing unusual there, it was when I turned round (away from the sunset) and carried on waking when I noticed the opposite side of the sky due East, had a pink looking sunset? Like 'another' sunset, I was looking back and forth between the two thinking they were connected, but they weren't. Either side of the real sunset were naturally blue darkening skies, but 'on the opposite horizon the sunset was this obvious pink hue. I thought of taking a 360 degree short video of it but didn't (I know i know I should) but anyway I just forgot about it until tonight, where I stumbled across some youtube vids showing the same sky by in a different country. I can post it if needed. I then discovered a few more vids on yt showing the same thing, and one was from back in 2010!

Anyway none of the vids gave an explanation, so I Googled it for 20 mins but still couldn't find any explanation for it. Which in turn led me here for answers. Should I start a new thread in an appropriate forum?

I can't actually help you with your sky questions but I will say it was likely caused by reflections off of a weather balloon mixed in with a glitch in the matrix!

I'm on the south coast of the UK. So great, I've seen a phenomenon. It does seem to be happening quite a bit though these days, do you think that means anything? Or is it just a phenomenon....... phenomening? Lol you know what I mean


Edit: I added a yt post I saw tonight by a guy in America who saw the same sky as me. Ignore his talk about wings etc, i think he's a Nibiru believer. But anyway, it's the same sky I saw 3 nights ago (excluding imaginary wings)

If I could figure out how to post a pic from my cell, I could show you a pink sunset setting in the north. My whole family was watching it with their jaws dropped. Damnedest thing....
