The message I am picking up is: "Look, I've still got the boot well-beyond the maximum heal time for a broken toe, BUT I am outside of the US...I'm in Canada."

So, I personally think that is the message she intended to send.

What's even more odd that never really got any attention was her communications director, Nick Merrill, tweeted the following when it happened...



And with that pic of her with the boot already on. Wouldn't her comms director know she had a broken toe? I mean that's kinda hard to get mixed up....

So, was the original story for them to go with a twisted ankle then realized they could get more time out of a broken toe? As in Hillary made that decision on the fly after telling him to say it was a twisted ankle?

Plus,it changed to something implausible....high heels and running on the stairs. Not since the 1990s has that happened, I bet.


ETA: A sprained ankle has a 2-4 week healing time. A broken toe is 4-6 weeks.

That may be why the story had to change. Time.

Upon realizing a boot wouldn't be needed for that long she changed it herself on the fly after the high heels and twisted ankle thing had already been put out there....

She probably thought the deal would be accepted and she'd get the boot off within normal healing time.
