CNN may be sold

Story here.

It's being reported today that the DOJ is going to block the proposed merger between Time Warner and AT&T, unless Time-Warner divests itself of CNN.

We definitely need to break up the major media empires. I expect that the Disney empire will eventually be broken up on monopolistic grounds, in the same vein as Standard Oil or the old AT&T company.

Hmmm... I wonder if Donald Trump is in the market for a crappy news outlet that needs rehabilitation?

Doesn't seem to be in the offing as Disney is looking to buy 21st Century Fox.

On a side note, Standard Oil is mostly back together now since the Exxon-Mobil merger.

If the goal is to prevent monopolies, I hope they also take action to insure that some other huge group doesn't grab it, instead. Otherwise, what's the point?
