I have suffered with it for years.

I won’t go into what or who I believe causes/manufactured the illness of depression, nor do I want suggestions of poisonous antidepressants nor do I need anymore counselling/therapy.

Would just like to hear from some people on natural ways and coping mechanisms and dare I say, maybe a natural ‘cure’. Perhaps there are some people here who have beaten this evil disease.

I am so sick of fighting this every single day but I am doing well, just need some tips.

do something different every day... Whether it's writing in blue ink. or black, or pink or green. go for walks. Go places you haven't been, explore your surroundings. Don't eat the same things, eat something you have never tried before... do this often... save your favourites for the really bad days... if you find yourself doing the same remdial repetitive thing find a way to make it different....

hope this helps... learn to live.

a reply to: fusiondoe I always found a hobby to be helpful. What really helped me was building a chicken ben. If that is something you can't do where you live there is always imo getting some hiking gear ready and going outside. Also going to see wild animals always helps. Oh I built one monster of a PC and that helped alot. Building something helps to empower you and feels great. Hope that helps amd keep on trucking along.

You are not alone in fighting depression ! Billions of souls on this planet fight it everyday and for varying reasons. I take a low dosage of Abilify to help control mine, but I find what helps me most is having and expressing gratitude for the small positives in my life.

Hope you get the help you need. Being aware and reaching out is the first step to recovery , or at least maintaining it.

Meditation has been an enormous help to me. Please consider, if you haven't already. Good Luck.

This might work for some people , but others find more healing and comfort in the familiar. New places, new things , and new supposed adventures bring me nothing but anxiety at my age ... lol.. which leads to depression. Some of us aren't good with change, others thrive on it 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Thanks for the reply! I have had this answer 20-30 times now from various people so it must do some good.

Would be interested to hear more, your meditation ‘procedure’ if you like.

You can post here or inbox me. Would love to hear

Thanks

If you are of age, I would say children.... grand children,,, great grand children. Teach them or show them something they have never seen before. Explore the wonder of youth through new eyes.... you would be surprised with our world of digital and instant gratification how far making pie from scratch goes.... or smoking some home made bacon... catching frogs in real life...

Sometime aĺl i need is to take a look around, just take a look at some people on this earth , and see them being happy in a much worse condition than i am living. Then questions impose themselves, most of the time, the answer is I am not living my life, im living it through others .its a huge work in the process.I ve been lurking on this forum for about 10 years, and i just began posting. You know why ,because im always pulling myself down, telling myself my 2 cent arent worth 1.keep your head up,focus on what you want to achieve and be unstoppable.

martial arts my friend
i say jiu jitsu but anything will work

you wont feel like it but force yourself to go. get active

i say anything will work but if you pick some # where you are punching the air it might not go as well

get grappling. it forces you to get close to people and you will be surprised how good it can/will make you feel

i would not lie about this

pick up some kettle bells and start swinging them mugs around

hit up a yoga class. hydrate an then go to a class

as much as you probably feel like you dont want to be around people getting into a class like yoga with other people all #in getting active will help man.
you could get obsessed though

i did

Maybe lower your aspirations and goals.

Do your predictions of reality usually turn out to be true or are you constantly surprised by life?

Get stuff to take care of, such as cactus, fish, plants, a cat. That helped me.

Acid worked for me. I was at the point of looking down the nasty end of a 12 gauge. It really turned everything around for me. Probably wouldn't be here today without it.

Good luck. It's a dark road.

Eta: i see you said natural. Mushrooms are a good natural remedy.

Stay strong. Listen to the mountain goats "amy aka spent gladiator"

I'm no doctor. This is not clinical, just a personal recommendation in addition to any help you may need seek.

Go find something positive and helpful to do for somebody else. Go help some people in worse straights that yourself. Find some lonely person who needs a friend. Contribute something positive to the life of somebody who needs it.
