What exactly are we accomplishing

It has exposed the true level of ignorance that perpetuates society.

And it seems to have replaced that ignorance with a new, even worse form of ignorance. One that ignores any semblance of mutual respect and compromise.

Because now it's ignorance mixed with a lot of partisanship, ego, and hate. A very powerful and addictive concoction.

The sad part is that she believed someone with a degree and blew your experience off. At least she did learn it. That is the important part. Two thirds of the people in this country are nothing more than parrots. They believe what influential people say even though most times it does not apply to the situation. The percentage of people who cannot think on their own has grown enormously over the years, they need to go on the net to do anything.

People think they have to follow recipes to cook, measuring everything exactly. Ingredients vary, people need to understand that one shoe does not fit all. Someone creates the recipes, that person decided to explore on their own. People used to have the confidence to experiment on their own before, now everyone seems to want to follow the instructions. What happened to creativity?

They're all SUBJECTIVE, meaning they are dangling these subjective and inconsequential issues in our face so that we argue over things that will change nothing all while their divide and conquer psyop rolls along full speed ahead.

They do this to condition us to accept their stories at face value.

Then, when they tell us baby incubators are being unplugged, most people believe it.

It's magic. You do know how magic works? Don't look at my right hand look at my left and while your looking at my left hand I'll stab you in the back with my right hand.
It's called the distraction technique.

Technology is a fact of life. It drives the economy, it's capitalism, free enterprise and American as apple pie.

Now it's a matter of Lead, Follow or get the #### out of the way. We aren't going to return to an agrarian society, and
all the leaders care about is profit. The military industrial complex is the determinant factor in todays world and the
the plebeians are just there to pay taxes.

Enjoy your pie in the sky hippie dreams but reality is much different and if you haven't learned that from your time on ATS;
something is cognitively wrong.

I used to build and repair computers for people, I have had a computer since 86. The thing that concerns me is people's reliance on technology and the lack of people teaching survival skills, like growing food or fishing, to their kids. That is the setup for a major catastrophy. We have been lucky that we have not had a major event in the last fifty years. The risk is still there, we have not got past it. Look at life in Syria, they had a society that was running smoothly. It is no longer that way. Most nations are aware of this, the USA seems to be the one where a lot of people are ignorant that it can happen again. I feel sorry for people who are not aware of the zigzags in history. People today are not so different as people were in the past.

We are still at risk of a major war, nobody wins with that. We are at risk of a major volcano or earthquake wiping out things. That risk is less than the war scenario. Our economy can flop, it is not real anyway. Everything can go down the tubes in a couple of years, society can fall apart and with more entitled people, the outcome is worse.

Conservatives do not cause crashes of economies, Liberals do. It used to be that conservatives started wars, but now Liberals seem to want to cause troubles that get us into war. Some things change, some don't. Our society is more at risk of collapse now than it was twenty years ago.

That's not entirely true.

Democrats make war, but they don't push in the sense of being pro strong national security or military. They take a public stance of being anti-war and anti-military while in the background they just either do it or allow it to happen.

The Republicans are the same way.

Everyone wants to talk about them being the famous party of "No" but I didn't notice too many things Obama and the Democrats really, really wanted that didn't actually happen.

Nice try. It's not subjective when Donald Trump lies every time his lips move and the evidence for that is quite objective.

And yes the country is divided, but it's because the Russians spent millions of dollars in destabilizing our relationships with each other, and electing a president who would further their cause.

I think you have it about right, Trump makes the calls..or rather he said those before him didn't make calls, worse still, even though he lies, doesn't even care if he lies, all he wants is for people to follow him, otherwise they are just blobs on the ground, which as far as he is concerned, they are anyway...just apprentices. It should be a good thing that people would follow their leader, but in this case I don't think so...if that offends, I'm sorry, it has to be that way.

The modern form of manipulation started in earnest roughly a decade ago. The left was the main target, and once that was locked down, it would be used to leverage similar manipulation on the right.

I think that it was all probably in the works as it was realized that tech like the internet was going to become so mainstream. In an effort to minimize any damage that the technology could do to the current paradigm, they came across techniques that are truly subtle and invasive. So much so, that they could be hidden under layers of more obvious, typical propaganda.

Instead of constantly having to hammer home the manipulation, a self-sustaining method was implemented. One where the subjects themselves would not only propagate it, but foster it and even come up with new aspects on their own. I doubt that anyone expected that this would come back around and infect the very people who spawned it, but here we are..

It should have been expected, when it was designed to instill a sense of immunity to it all where the other side are the only ones susceptible and impacted. Seems silly that the creators didn't see this also affecting them.. but hindsight is 20/20.

The worst part is that it can cause total breaks with "reality" across large swathes of the population. When a fabricated narrative becomes so complete and comprehensive, its almost a certainty. And that, thereabouts, is where we are right now.

On the positive side, these same techniques can be hijacked to break society from the Cultural Story that enabled and encouraged this in the first place. Without large distribution and coverage though, its an uphill battle. Which is why concepts like decentralization are so critical, among a plethora of other factors. The issue is that in the current Cultural climate and soil, things need to be able to compete with current structures in order to take root. Its a real clusterfeck..

People can only decide for themselves what is a significant issue to understand and pursue that understanding for themselves.

The media is not going to present certain significant issues because they do not want you to understand them, or even think about them. Too many people allow the media to dictate what they think about and talk about.

It's single-handedly invaded ATS for quite some time now.
Problem is, media sites make bank off of this type of mundane political discourse. So ATS won't be correcting the sub-culture any time soon.

I agree with you OP. Rare that.
It would be nice to see an end to the MSM Trump attack reposts masquerading as threads.
