I just don't see what incentive anyone would have to lie? Why would LE be reluctant to tell the public they took out the shooter? He's white.

Yeah, admittedly I did wonder about the effect of heat on the barrel.

19 just seemed too excessive even for that, in my opinion.

But I guess that depends on how long he expected to be there.

I speculated earlier he may have had the extra guns because he intended to shoot it out with police and then pussied out. That's just speculation of course. There's all kinds of reasons why he may have had so many guns. We may never know for sure.

That’s another valid point.

I’d wonder about barricading himself 32 floors up with no way out of he wanted a fire fight though.
& If suicide was in his mind, why not take a few cops with him?

Just offing himself with all that lying around doesn’t equate to me.

Unless of course, as you say, he pussied out.

Definitely not standard issue.

Sounds like the shooter was using a drum magazine... or an M60.

Media is now thinking the weapon was a bump fire weapon. I knew it was bump fire the second I heard it. The changing in speed of the rounds was a dead giveaway

45 minutes prior to shooting, lady screams at everyone around the front row that they're all going to die..

Why don't we have this account of events from anyone else in attendance?

We have someone who was able to dig up an anti-Trump rally and find a random guy in the video and make that "connection" within 12 hours yet we don't have a 2nd witness to confirm this story?

I don't think what the girl is saying actually happened. I think plenty more in attendance would have come forward.

I don't believe her either, for some reason.

I agree other people would've definitely corroborated her story. No one has done that.

then again, this article says that she's from australia, and is currently in the phillipines...
so who knows. maybe I misheard the video that I was watching...

www.smh.com.au...

Here's a theory I constructed from the bits of news released so far.

I asked myself "what set him off" ? His own brother said that.

All his life, Stephen was a cool guy, rich, seemingly happy, loved to gamble and invest in real estate.

Not political, nor religious, according to his brother. And wasn't into guns, for most of his life.

Then there's this mysterious lady in his life, who is a brown skinned Philippine woman, holding Australian citizenship, and living in the US for the last 20 years. She is his girlfriend, brother thinks they may have secretly married, but not sure, and she is out of the country at the time of shooting. Why is she out of the counrty? Authorities say they know where she is, and she is not suspected to be involved, so they seem to know alot about her already.

Two things can set a 64 year old man off, making him mad at society and seeking revenge.

1) He lost all his money gambling at the Las Vegas casinos, and at 64 years old, no way to recover from the loss. Feels cheated, and decides to take his frustrations out on society, going out with a bang.

2) His girlfriend was his lover, but working illegally in the US, and ICE just arrested her and deported her from the US, under Donald Trump's new get strict policy, and anyone deported from the US is denied re-entry for 10 years. This upset Stephen, since in 10 years he could be dead, and he thinks its grossly unfair to remove his love from his life right when he needs her, and decides if he can't be happy, then nobody will be happy, and again, he removes the happiness from as many people as possible, as he goes out with a bang.

One of these two is probably the "motivation." Maybe both occurred at the same time, making him doubly mad.

I'm leaning towards (2) as the explanation.

Someone took something away from Stephen, that he cherished, and he went bezerk.

And like any kid that screams and gets angry when you take away his toy, Stephen retaliated.

Remember the guy, Andrew Joseph Stack III, 53, that flew his own private plane into the IRS building, because the IRS repossessed his home and yacht?

Same kind of rationale.

The only question here is what was taken away from Stephen, money or his lady friend ?

He may have intended to do that, but then didn't want to risk taking multiple painful hits and not dying, so decided to end it quickly. These shooters tend to be cowards.

Please post your simple research that shows the guy in the 1985-1993 documents relating to Areospace and NASA is not the shooter. If you've done this work, please share so we can move on...

The Shooter is Stephen Craig Paddock

The Steve Paddock that worked at NASA was Stephen G. Paddock

Stephen G. Paddock, Jr., Apollo Flight
Crew Support Group

archive.org...

And this is a pic of the other guy (Global Warming Papers) he said was the shooter
plus.google.com...

It goes on and on...

The Shooter was an accountant for An Aerospace Company that Lockheed acquired. he worked there from 1985-1988.
He has also been a property manager and was most recently retired and professionally gambling.

Did NOT work for NASA
Did NOT author scientific papers on Global Warming.
Middle Initial C.
DOB Born April 9, 1953/64 YOA

Not difficult to discern between him and the other Steve Paddocks in the world.

But hey...You have blurry youtube picture of a guy named Steve in a crowd to come to your certain conclusion, so it must be some act of political anti-trump terrorism.

Well said.

Deny ignorance.

Has anyone any commentary on the Video on FB showing gunfire from a 4th or 5th floor location? It clearly shows flash from the window at the same time as you can hear the firing, and nothing from the upper floors at that time?

I seen that 4th or 5th floor gun fire in another video position pointing up. The vid was from ABC news last night early am. That was definitely gun fire from a belt driven weapon. I don't know who made the cell phone vid but ABC news has it. After 20 plus year in the military and combat with the 101st airborne that was machine gun fire from that floor

Looks like reflection to me and a lot of other folks who've had this debate on Twitter.

My only reason for questioning this is if there was a 4th floor shooter, why isn't that window also broken out?

Terrorist attacks are one thing. This is entirely different. Trying to equate the two is misguided.

Would you like to tot up how many killed by such actions in the uk this year compared to say, oh, how many have died from gun crime in say Chicago alone.

If citizens don’t do the right thing and persistently cling to stupidity, this will happen again and again - which, of course, it will.

If the UK gun laws are so good why do you guys have armed police? Northern Ireland police are all armed and have been for decades. The units that protect the Queen are armed.

.

The Queen is the biggest landowner on the planet, of course she's going to have security.

As for northern Ireland, all their police are armed because of terrorist groups, or freedom fighters Depending where you fall on the argument. Ireland is a real bad example as they've been fighting each other for a long time and thousands upon thousands have been killed, car bombs, and plain old military shootings, retaliations. It's so complexed it's difficult to know where to start but simply say "If British gun Laws are so good why are the northern irish police armed" minimises what really is going on there, it's a battle of religion and independence.

I'm from an area of the UK that suffered a mass shooting not that long ago (2010) so our gun laws are flawless but they have cut down gun crime massively.

Also Terrorists have been shooting up airports and running lorrys in to people long before the recent troubles. It used to happen in the 60's and 70's. How often does that happen in the US compared to someone getting shot?

Update to 59 dead, there goes that silly 58 theory.

Edit: Personally I'd rather it stayed at 58, one more life being lost sucks.

But 5+9=14, my cousin is fourteen years old. At one point in his life, he was also FIVE years old. AND NINE!

I wonder if the Illuminutty is telling me something, here.

Could it be reflections from fire at another position outside the Mandalay Bay? Would the reflection be that bright or would we have to be viewing a muzzle for that brightness?

I don't think so. That was very bright. I seen flashes in many close combat / urban combat like it and there was always a gunner there. some of these buildings also have small opening and balconies that only maintenance can access is usually where HVAC is, and you can't see from below for a reason. HVAC equipment is not all on the roof as most people think.

That is certainly possible. A shooter does not wish to be confronted, and will go to ridiculous lengths to ensure he can avoid it/take his or her own life instead.

This is exactly the reason why armed citizens are so important. In a case like this, it may not have made a difference, but that isn't usually true. Most of these incidents would have been stopped sooner if the victims had a way to fight back instead of giving the shooter an even greater advantage (element of surprise + a function of distance and time).

Rushing and engaging a shooter is absolutely the best move. Any active shooter training class will tell you this. Sadly, some will reject this simply because it puts their own victimhood status on the line.

I refuse to be a victim.
