Nowhere does it say that Paddock was firing at the officer, it says he managed to fire off 200 more rounds as the officer approached.

How long and how many clips would he need to replace to accomplish that?
Seems like it'd take up a significant amount within the approx 10 minute timeline.

Just look at the door,door frame,and walls if you doubt the 200 rounds story. I counted 13 shown on 1.5 doors

I think he did but I'd expect more damage than that and more than a leg wound. As to my question though, wouldn't 200 rounds shot down the hall beva noticeable lull in the firing outside?
There's the muffled bursts suggesting switched positions...I don't know what this suggests about rate of fire and 2 shooters though just an observation about the volley timeline.

Also didn't LE just yesterday say it was fired down the hallway? A page back someone posted an abc news link where LE now says 200 shots but not that they were inside?

But look again at the photo and the door... and the lack of 200 bullet holes a.abcnews.com...

Edit: and the door on the ground looks like those bullets were shot in through the door and they look like entry shots

That's what I'm confused about: LE if iirc said they went down the hall, now they're not saying that at all. Add to that the door doesn't look like 200 rounds went through it...

So either no one noticed 200+ muffled shots from outside (indicating down the hall firing) or he didn't fire them down the hall and it's a moot point highlighted by LE for some reason.

The long video (shows video guy helping people find exit) posted by the member (who had a funny bird picture as his profile pic) last night captures the last volley which I would presume was the one that got the security Shot. It was very short and fits 14min timeline but doesn’t seem like 200 rounds. 200 down the hallway would be the front door.

That's what's confusing about it, why did LE make that statement? I agree w Clay, there'd be noting left if that door.

Yes agree 100% maybe clay could lend some thoughts to the gun holes in door? Do they not seem like shots fired INTO 32-135 not out?

Edit: I think the talking point is to show reasonable threat not to breach the door for over 60 more mins from that point

I went back and looked. It's honestly kind of hard to say.

I counted about (15)+/- (13 with some evidence of others behind the caution tape and the other door leaf). If they were FMJ rounds, which is pretty likely, they could be entry or exit holes. Personally they look like entry holes. However, we can't really tell what side of the door is facing the picture (i.e. whether its the inside or exterior). Also, we have to remember the .223 makes a pretty small hole, and FMJ rounds don't have a lot of expansion going through wood like that.

I'd say they are probably entry shots, for the most part. Although there does appear to be some exit shots also right where the doors overlap. I would expect to see paint spalling on an entry shot, which we see. Depending on how the door was made I'd expect to see at least some splintering outward on an exit shot, and I don't see a lot of that.

That's my .02.

ETA...Oh, and I see no evidence at all of shots through the other door leaf, or the adjacent walls...which I find pretty surprising actually.

go to 3:10 of the video, you hear a couple single shots, then people start running away, THEN comes the barrage of bullets.

Wow I haven’t seen this video and it sure sounds like more shots before first volley. I would guess that the shooter might be “sighting” in those shots testing trajectories and such

You know...I wonder if SWAT used a "door breaching round" instead of the taped in place C4 explosive charge. (?)

That would explain the holes, but it wouldn't explain the other debris on the ground like the 'EXIT' sign which was probably mounted on the ceiling above the stairwell door, and the blown light fixture.
