That's a good enough reason to share the song on a Friday anyway.

This is the cake I made for the Shed with Gordi at the bottom with the drums.

Wow Blue that is very impressive, especially the life like image of Gordi. I can see my self as one of the milking girls.
Is there chocolate in that thing?

What the cat said.
I should know better than to get all "political" and morally offended" in here.
So, deserving your rebuke, I bow my head and will refrain from a retort.

Yes WIS there is chocolate in that cake. It's right there where I stuck my finger in it to check for you.

Never mind. That's on the other side of the cake.

Well it is The Season, so I put out some rice porridge for my Gnomes.
These Gnomes are Danish and they hate the term Gnome.
They want to be addressed as Nisse, Nisser plural.

They are wonderful beings and actually around all year.
I wonder if a few came with me when I crossed the pond?

My mom was a teen when the moon landing happened. She watched it with her mom and aunt. She recalls seeing a weird being that appeared superimposed on the screen. The aunt turned and looked at her, saying. "Did you see that?". They both saw something, but I haven't found any other sources that make any similar claims.

Don't suppose you saw anything like that?

(I am not a believer that the moon landing was faked. However, I think there is an argument for that, and that argument made me think twice. "I want to believe".)

No, I just saw Neil walk on the moon and get his line wrong.

You can probably never understand what TV was like back in those days. The moon landing images were grainy, the cameras were the best available ... in 1969.

It was certainly not 1080P.

There were artifacts ... they were normal for that time period and the fact that this was for its time ... the longest transmission distance ever tried.

If you need to know a little more ... everything was based on valve tech. Yeah ... valves!

I love the whole moon-landing thing.
But, I'd just like to clarify one small point...
There was NO LIVE FEED of the moon landing broadcast to terrestrial TV networks.
NONE.
The actual TV images that were broadcast to the public were taken by a camera which was pointed at a TV screen!
The VERY grainy images were made much worse by using this technique - some say... deliberately so.

Actual camera tech was fairly advanced by the late sixties.

This movie was released in 1968, a year before the moon landing.

Compare the quality of that footage to the TV broadcast of the actual moon landing in 1969:

The quality of footage captured in 1969 wasn't necessarily limited by the camera tech of the day.
The footage which was BROADCAST was definitely limited by.... the methods used to broadcast!

Footnote:
If they were deliberately trying to obscure something from Joe Public back then (nearly 50 years ago) then surely we could go back and check over the ORIGINAL tapes??
The original tapes would be much better quality and could reveal details that were impossible to see using the broadcast methods employed by NASA in '69?

Well, yes and no.
Yes, the tapes would undoubtedly be of much better quality than the fuzzy recordings of the TV images that were broadcast back in the day,
and...
No, we can't look at them.

Why?
Because NASA erased them.
That's right... The single most important event in the history of mankind... erased by NASA because...... reasons!

Ah WIS, no rebuke intended.
I was merely offering a gift of potential reasons why "they" might want to put all of that effort into something that didn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. Whether real or faked.
I submit the premise that... to "them" it could have mattered!

It's hard to ignore dad sometimes like this morning. As I lay in bed listening to the noises he makes I know where and what he is doing. I knew that he made his coffee, drinking out the cup that he never cleans out. Sat down in his so-called office and turned on his blasted AM radio. I that point I knew that I was free to get up and fix my own coffee and breakfast. As soon as I start he comes in the kitchen and washes the dishes which means he was standing about two feet away from me. All that served was for him to complain to me that I needed to wash the dishes sometime.

As for health news, I'm checking my pulse rate every day for two weeks to see if halfing one of my meds with bring up my heart rate to a point that I will not require a pacemaker. So far it has brought it up just a little but it's still in the danger zone for a normal person. As my dad checked this for the first two days he decided that it's high enough that I don't need a pacemaker. Of course, I ignore him when he says anything but it still ticks me off. This is why I have days in which I stay up as long as I can to be able to move around the house without having to hear is putdowns.

Otherwise, I am very depressed today as I think of the worse possible outcome of not winning my Social Security hearing, whenever that will be.

On a lighter note: Isn't the PC name of your Gnomes or Nisser that of height impaired magical people?

Great Googly Moogly! How a simple, innocent question regarding Apollo 11 from a Finnish member who likes to sauna naked with friends, answered with a short youtube video provided in good faith by another member who doesn't like to sauna naked with friends can incite a discussion.

ETA Impressed with Mr. Drummer's replies too.
