I don't particularly think the kids were JW.

No I didn't say that. I brought them up to illustrate the point. To give the posters here who think this is disrespectful another point of view.

Are you asking me if religious beliefs trump standing for a song? Or course they do.

So do political beliefs and using their right to protest what they see as an injustice.
Nothing disrespectful about that. They have every right to do so.

I say go for it, free speech. Don't stand, but also I would hope the non standing person/s are educating themselves on why they are doing the demonstration.
Something tells me these 8 year olds have no clue to the reasons they are taking a knee.

I was pretty knowledgeable and understanding when I was 8. But then that's just me.

Do they mean the one's killed by the Police, or all the one's killed by other black people? The second one is a much, much bigger problem.

It's a National Embarrassment.

You may very well be correct. I find it very odd that the 8 year olds were so political savvy.

Good candidate for intrepid's "trigger" thread.

My kid will get her ass kicked if I catch her disrespecting the flag.

Riiiight...
But punching Nazis is bad, yes?
Just want a make sure...

I suggest if you love freedom you'll let your daughter disrespect any inanimate object she wishes to.

I dont know this area but am not shocked that 8 year olds could have an understanding of the situation. Maybe in suburbia kids can be shielded from the horrors of the world but there are places where being honest with your kids might actually help them live to see adulthood.

Weird that disrespecting a song to some people is a more heinous crime than systemic corruption.

Signs of poor coaching, when you put personal feelings in front of teaching, your not a teacher or a coach, your an opinionated idiot, all you teaching kids is how to react off of feelings rather then skills, ignorance breeding more ignorance, the leagues I coached in,the team would have been disqualified for breaking rules, that really teaches them huh
