Which path?

Neither.

I would test to see if there was an undisclosed third choice which might possibly be freedom from dependency and religeon.

Interesting...

Thank you.

My daughter found my old notebooks. I thought there would be great treasures. Mostly junk.

In essence you have access to technologies that can repair any damage areas some may accrue, no health issues. Are still succeptable to death if damage occurred and no repair biological or mineral energy was accessible.

In spirit, are succeptable to capture, and or prana/Spirit absorbsion/imprisonment draining if you are unaware and with malevolent actions/projections attract closer to their regions of existence, by other more Spirit based beings or by beings more technological based who harness spirit energy for their survival until you can free yourself or are freed.

Then, you misunderstood the criteria I presented. You are suggesting b) rather than a).

Depends on your own views of life thus far I suppose.
With medical advances improving as they are, we're living longer on average anyways. For some of us though it could improve a little faster.

I suppose aging and all the age related health issues are a turn off. Younger people never think this way, they feel invincible.

I guess I don't see the attraction in it, the same way I don't see the attraction in a one way ticket to Mars.

They are.
I know I was. But I wasn't really stupid about it.

Somewhere, sometime, something happened though. Maybe I realized more just how cool it was to survive.

You have to endure both paths via 2 or more life-times.

Reason: many here on this planet are spiritually biased and will gladly only choose the spiritual path.

However, by being in contact with material minded people here on Earth, they understand why their spiritual world is so important.

In other words, they were initially in a spirit world, screwed up badly, got reborn into this world and learned the hard-way that their initial spiritual path is the best path for them into eternity.

After enduring this material hell-hole, they will return to the spiritual version of this world and never ever make the same mistake again.

[EDIT]. Oh and what ever they create here in their mind, goes with them into the spirit world. So if they created a teleport device here in physical form, those blue-prints stay in their mind / DNA thus allowing them to teleport anywhere in the spirit world. This is done via visualizing their invention in this world.

What the mind can believe, the body will achieve.

You ARE aging consciously hopefully gaining more wisdom. Your exterior or shell will be fixable in most damaging situations unless you run out of that energy source. Please excuse if I am still misundersranding you Phage.

Wisdom, in a human, would seen to be a function of aging.

Now, without aging, with eternal youth, what happens?

You make new bodies to beam into.
Your consciousness remains. But you may have a body form now that can exist in deep space without experiencing any radiation damage for example. You reach a new Star system and you can make body forms to explore experience the planets there. If here in Sol system you can pick body forms per planet or moon. And beam in and out of them.

If you accept a Spiritual ASCENSION you can do the same thing but instead of changing body forms you take you new spirit form and explore experience same planets but more benign to the environment and inhabitants. Unless you incarnate there... So you could watch EA*RTH or MARS development as Spirit and influence it via conscious interacting with its inhabitants the more they develop or by affecting its environment in one of many ways like electromagnetically and eventually incarnate to interact more directly. Knowing you will eventually cross death again and return back to your original spirit form... Hopefully accomplishing your job/survey/evaluation/experience that attracted you there.

There is no such thing as "spiritual sciences" imagined by the OP. There is the study of comparative religions I guess. But there is no science with regards to superstitions.

I don't see the two paths as being a "choice". What is being suggested doesn't seem like two "paths" to me.

The idea "choice" has to have boundaries and limitations. We don't choose to live our lives a certain way. We just make choices as we live our lives. Some choices we make are moral. Some choices we make are immoral. And some people choose Microsoft. Some people choose Apple. Choosing technology doesn't make you evil. And having faith in God doesn't automatically make you a bad scientist.

My problem with superstition is nature just seems so obsessed abiding by the laws of physics. Every time I drop something it hits the ground. It's just amazing how relentless nature is in abiding by the laws of physics. I tend to believe superstition and supernatural causes to be just imaginary. As far as I can tell if God does exist, God is completely indifferent to the affairs of men. Life is full of suffering. As far as I can tell it doesn't matter what you believe. Everyone suffers. I guessing learning how to experience joy in the face of endless misery is probably our only true choice we have in this World.

You make new bodies to beam into.

Sure you do.

Thing is wisdom comes from the knowledge of mortality. Without it you're an adolescent. On the verge, but not ever there. An eternal teenager. No, thank you very much.

You then do your best to conduct yourselves according to the teachings associated with the afterlife.
What energy you put out will reflect back upon your afterlife location and body form.
You conducted yourself either benevolent or malevolent during this life and in spirit will attract to a location similar to your activities projected here.

Which path would you choose?

Why wait until the afterlife? If you believe what goes around comes around then if you crap on the people around you eventually they are going to crap on you.

I think your view of spirit is limited. If you accept the many worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics then an infinite number of Worlds exist where every choice you make is played out until the end. However, in any given Universe, like this one, all our choices are deterministic. Choice only exists because ALL the choices exist in some space-time alternate dimension. So in this multi-verse where every possible quantum state is realized we are neither good nor evil because we are the sum total of every possible choice we could ever make.

I have a repulsion reflex to the first "technological" choice, because I imagine terrible boredom in the same container for .......ever.
Though I've often expressed some interest in the idea of projecting into non-biological bodies (such a computers, robots...) which might provide a different experience with more widely varied capacities (like longer life, more strength, faster or more complex mental processes...), but that remains only interesting if the possibility of death and change remain an option!

Can we choose the first path, with a death option included? So that we can live in one container as long as desired, but also step out into others if desired?

If not, I'd go with the second. Though the whole good and evil thing doesn't speak to me at all. I'd just ride the waves of time and experience and observe the ways behaviors and choices impact each other without searching to control and direct so much. Being in these physical containers includes automated systems which move towards pleasure and away from discomfort already, so I don't need to put much energy into that along the adventure.

Rejuvenation is an interesting option. Go through the whole aging process then get a young shell just before the end. Still, there are problems with that. Reconciling all the mistakes you have made. Karma without consequences. It alliterates nicely but I'm not sure how it would feel.

The privilege of accumulating untold guilt?

That sounds plausible for the first path of technology Bluesma. Following the op premise you could deplete your energy source intentionally or just switch out shells. Good question
