Well, this kind of thing will tend to happen when all your campaign cohorts are playing hide the salami with Russian operatives.
Well of course this is the response I expected.
At first it was how dare Trump makes claims Obama would have had this type of surveillance, and now it is well of course there was this surveillance but it was warranted.

I guess I missed the list of unmasked names. Can you bring me up to speed?
I know what's his name, Nunes, said that he was upset about the unmasking but that didn't seem to go anywhere. Never did hear exactly what names were unmasked.
News media reports on contacts between Russia and Trump associates, including in The Washington Post, have included names said to have appeared in intelligence reports — either persons named in conversations between foreigners, or conversations directly between foreigners and U.S. persons.
Most prominent among them is former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn, whose December phone conversations with Russia’s ambassador in Washington included references to U.S. sanctions imposed under President Barack Obama. After a Post report on the conversations, Trump ousted Flynn for mischaracterizing them to Vice President Pence.
Remember when they hated Comey for announcing Hillary's alleged non gross negligence?
But when Trump fired him, they loved him.

There was no evidence found up till the point of Meuller taking over the investigation.
Really? How do you know this?
If there was evidence it would have leaked and Trump would not be President.

Yes. I know about the big one.
Maybe. Or maybe it came from something else.
but the leaks of Trumps team and their conversations most likely came from this unmasking.
Seems the ties and interactions between members of a presidential campaign and Russian (and other foreign interests) is unusual too. So maybe there was a good reason for the unmasking.
Still, it is unusual to unmask a large list of names (who were not being investigated) connected to a political rival.
I agree. That this was leaked is very bad. I hope the culprit is found.
At the very least, we know this at least happened with Flynn, which is enough to be totally unacceptable.
I'm not sure that is the case.
Trump may now unmask anyone connected with his rival he wants for any dumb reason,

I agree, it is funny as hell, hahaha. And I say this as a Bernie supporter- which I guess makes me a liberal too. Sort of. At least is many conservative people's eyes.
By the way, Julian Assange is also having fun with this:

Nor was the level of Russian involvement with the election process known.
And before this election, no one seemed to make a big deal about politicians working with russians.
It would depend on how vague and meaningless. Trump seems to be able to excel in that department.
But it will be hard to argue with a straight face that if it was ok for Obamas team to unmask over a UAE vistit to the US, that Trumps team couldn't also use very vague and meaningless reasons to do this.

Because of attempts to meddle in the election? And that was a few years back. Before Ukraine and stuff.
Romney accused Russia of being a huge threat and was laughed at by Obama.
And Trump said he would love to work with the Russians after he won right out loud.
Obama was then caught hot mic telling russians he would have more flexibility to work with them after he won.
You're hung up on the stolen emails? There's a lot more to it than that.
And I have yet to see proof the Russia did the hacks.

Apparently, after digging through advertising data for the better part of full year now, Facebook felt compelled to let us know that they found a 'staggering' $50,000 worth of ad buys that 'MAY' have been purchased by Russian-linked accounts to run 'potentially politically related' ads.
No really, Facebook, a $500 billion company, actually thinks that $50,000 worth of ad revenue is news and quite literally could have changed the course of American history.
