geostationary satellites will keep orbiting the earth.

Geostationary satellites dont orbit the Earth. They dont move around the Earth.

I've got to say, you are by far the most persistent troll I've ever seen on ATS and I've seen Turbo create an entire thread about how John Young was on the moon without wearing the gloves on his space suit and the proof provided was a picture of John Young on the moon wearing his space suit gloves.

But do geostationary satellites orbit around the Earth? Can you confirm that they do?

If you dont then you automatically admit that geostationary satellites do not orbit the Earth like your friend did and that you were wrong the whole time.

I would say you are the most persistent losers of a discussion I have ever seen.

Salmon are fish. They need water to live in. Done.

Now prove that a satellite that doesnt move relative to Earth, moves relative to Earth at the same time.

Rofl.

There seems to be stuff going on in your head that is not actually happening in reality.

Your persistence with trying to get us all to play the same old semantic word games ceased being of any interest to me a while ago now. You might try insulting people again, that may get a rise out of them.

Ok cool care to provide any evidence to substantiate your wild claims?

The same old hilarious lie peddled by the Illuminati and TPTB. Open your eyes. We have been lied to about this for centuries. How do you know that salmon need water to live in? Have you ever seen one die from being out of water? Of course you haven't because it's all a lie.

Now prove that salmon need water to live in.

Salmon need water to live in - debunked.

They do. You have not provided anything resembling an explanation why they would not.

You are completely wrong.

Geostationary satellites DO move around the Earth then?

Yes. Yes they do.

If the earth is rotating and the satellite is following that rotation to make it look like its not moving from here on the ground when looking up and seeing it then its moving around the planet at the same rate as the planet is rotating.

Rofl. Its not moving around the planet. Its moving through space and is in synch with Earth rotation. Hence it doesnt move around Earth. If it did it wouldnt be geostationary.

Rofl.

You have no concept of geometry.

It's not a discussion, it's people repeatedly proving you wrong with scientific evidence and you saying "I don't understand that, so it's debunked"

Now, can you please provide evidence for your belief that a satellite going faster than the rotational speed of earth is possible, a satellite going slower than the rotational speed of earth is possible, but by some form of magic you seem unable/unwilling to explain, a satellite travelling at the same rotational speed of the earth is impossible.

Agreed, but without Turbo's class. Turbo also posted in this thread that no form of transport including planes could travel to his Ice Wall then he posted what he claimed was a video shot from a plane flying along it. At least Turbo does not get all nasty and unpleasant.

Yes, here.

They are GEO STATIONARY.

Now what could that mean? Could it mean they are stationary in relation to the Earth?

Yes!

So how are they moving around the Earth again? If they were moving around the Earth they wouldnt stay stationary above the same spot now would they?

Amazing.

1000 posts and you guys still cant grasp the difference between moving through space and moving AROUND the Earth.

Wow just goes to show you people are simply unable to grasp what is being said.

What I said, over 300 times, is that it is impossible for such a sat to be in sync with Earths rotational speed and at the same time move around the Earth. It would have to be out of sync to do that.

Hence, geostationary satellites dont orbit around the Earth.
