Ooh, so is that how it works now? If I don't listen and conform to your beliefs, I'm merely not worthy to be addressed? Lol.

I told you I'm all ears and gave you an opportunity to express yourself, but clearly you CAN'T so you instead took the cowardly way out.

It's OK annee, I understand.

I'm calm as a feather, triggered? Lmao, that's even weak by your standards.

Look at your buddy over there using all caps and yelling.

Pathetic attempts from all of you.

But counseling can simply affirm the wrong thing especially if you go to a counselor who is operating off a bias that the kid is their primarily because he or she is transgender and not because he or she is depressed or anything else. Then you have a counselor who can make the mistake of thinking the depression is a symptom of the transgenderism and not its cause or even a separate issue existing side by side with it.

And in a couple of the examples I presented, the individuals who regretted what they had done had insisted for years, through childhood that they were transgender. So this idea that the true transgender kid is the one who presses the issue is not necessarily true.

And one of my examples got dismissed because of a botched double mastectomy ... oh and losing the chance to have children?! Gosh, who would have thought that someone might want to procreate after all. What was she thinking ... or her counselors for that matter if she got through so much of the process without having adequately thought that through.

I think the answer is both. There are social constructs for "boys" and "girls", and there is a gender awareness in the brain that identifies with one of those constructs (or some combination, depending on the rigidity/fluidity of the gender awareness of the individual).

So in other words, you can't so you deflect and try to attack me instead.

I didn't see her post as an attack on you so that's why it appeared to me that her post triggered you. Your talk about her usage of caps further proved my point.

Look I like you and we UNDERSTAND (yep I'm yelling LOL) the point of your thread. It's just that we WISH (I'm screaming) you would see our point and our view.

Here's a beer.

You don't demand change, you inspire it.

And as of right now, it only grows increasingly difficult to take you serious.

I was afraid to answer his question but thank you for answering what my answer would have been.
It's both really.

A good counselor will be looking for other conditions, such as childhood traumas to rule them out.

The pre-surgery counseling is supposed to go over all the pros and cons of the surgery, so that there are no surprises.

Just like doctors, there are good ones and not so good ones. Doesn't mean you should never go to a doctor and never pursue transition.

It's a fairly new science. Even though Gender Dysphoria has been known for quite some time.

Getting funding to do studies in this area is difficult.

Even having qualified doctors/psychiatrists for Gender Dysphoria is challenging.

Awareness helps.

There's enough info available to have understanding. To know it's real.

I agree, let kids be kids and let them choose their sexual identity when the time comes.

Kids don't know what a sexual identity is, all I was taught at seven years of age was the staples i.e Science, math and English. All i knew at that age is that I peed differently to girls, no convoluted nonsense on gender equality or so forth as kids are taught these days.

How does a Lil Kim or Lil Keith know what LGBT means? when should they know what LGBT means? When they start getting urges for the same or opposite sex that's when the parents should get involved, no school or scholar should have the right to dictate their students sexuality before knowing their basic sexual impulses.

Don't forget, people have urges to have sex with animals too.

That sex urge can be "re-directed" to any convenient thing. Even, inanimate "sex dolls".

People have "fallen in love" with their sex dolls.
Man in love with his sex doll toy.

Man being forced to marry the sheep he'd been having sex with. Sudan man forced to 'marry' goat

We are, after all, "multi-sexual beings."

Using our imagination, and a bit of warm body, we can fantasize and romanticize a rock.

Who is to say what we should do with our sexuality?

Who is to say which "urges" are good, and which are bad?

Religion has one answer, and non-religious people have other answers.

Is everyone a "bigot" who doesn't accept the particular answer you believe in?
