Not true mate that is like saying you can be a Christian and a Muslim or a Hindu and a Zoroastrian, if you are an agnostic you don't disbelieve in God you just don't believe in God but if you are an atheist you Disbelieve in God.
Were An Agnostic is open minded, there may be a God or there May not be one, What is a God etc, An Atheist can be converted to Agnosticism and vice versa but they are not the same thing so they are in fact exclusive definition's and quite different philosophy's at there fundament.

That's because the Vatican City is an independent, autonomous country. I you don't seet the police in American states that border Canada or Mexico going into those countries to investigate noise complaints at parties. Same concept here.

Yes, understood. I guess my point was no cover up...Pretty damaging to say the least. I guess the big questions are whether what they did was illegal or not, and what part was actually illegal? Why was there a raid? Is being gay illegal in Vatican City? Is having orgies illegal? Did they raid them only because there was party drugs of some kind...lol

From the various articles I've read, it was basically a noise complaint, too many shady looking people going into the home of a high ranking priest and the drugs and orgy were in the open when the police entered the premises. Nether the orgy not the gay sex are actually illegal inVarican city which I was surprised to learn. The priest in question was brought to a detox facility to sober up from partying his ass off and charges hadn't been filed st he told time but it's pretty certain that he will be charged with at least some sort of possession for the drugs as that's the only crime he committed. The worst of it is the stain on the already heavily tarnished reputation of the Church and the career suicide he just committed since he was up for promotion to Bishop 'cause that's not goi g to happen now! Pretty poor timing on his part after all of the charges Australia just brought against Cardinal Pell so he will be made an example of for sure.

The Vatican’s Swiss Guards Break Up a Drug-Fueled Gay Orgy in Pope Francis’ Backyard

He will face misdemeanor drug charges, say the local papers, but orgies aren’t illegal and there were no underage boys on the premises when the bust took place so he will not face sex-related charges.

Yep, that's what it looks like from this update article.

His boss Cardinal Coccopalmerio has already replaced him and will not face any disciplinary measures for hiring such a promiscuous clerk.

There ya have it.
Pretty much figured nothing much would happen - ya know - those who are above the law and all.

Wait... I'm confused. Your link and quoted material says the priest in question is facing misdemeanor drug charges and has been replaced in the position he held until his arrest. He will also no longer be promoted to Bishop as was in the works before all of this went down. So how is anyone above the law? Why should the Cardinal be held accountable for the illegal activities that an employee engaged in off the clock, if that's what you are inferring?

You really need to stop trying to lecture me on my belief systems. You only have a vague idea of what you speak and are clearly out of your element.
Agnostic Atheism

Agnostic atheism is a philosophical position that encompasses both atheism and agnosticism.

Agnostic atheists are atheistic because they do not hold a belief in the existence of any deity and agnostic because they claim that the existence of a deity is either unknowable in principle or currently unknown in fact.

The agnostic atheist may be contrasted with the agnostic theist, who believes that one or more deities exist but claims that the existence or nonexistence of such is unknown or cannot be known.[1][2][3]

It really gets tiring correcting the religious of their misconceptions about atheism...

Above the law? But it looks like the guy is being punished for drug use. Do you want him punished for the not-illegal orgy or something?

I am intrigued to know what the age of consent is in the Holy See, since surely everyone who lives there is meant to be celibate. But I'm not actually intrigued enough to check.

I lived in Italy for 20 years - I know how seriously they take drugs.

Most anyone else would have gone to jail.

Which I have to say is way cooler over there than here but that's for another thread.

Thanks for the questions.

Unfortunately men of this type are also running our government's, in position's of power and authority and wash one another's back protecting one another while we the sheep are the one's that suffer.
Since the time of the Borgia's and indeed since the time of Constantine the Church has been riddled with these guy's, even the breakaway church's, the protestant, Methodist and other church's are riddled with these worm's.

Sad but true, the religion itself is not to blame and they simply would have corrupted which ever institution was available, they are also found among the Imam's of Islam and among the Indian religious leaders.

Something about being able to manipulate people, to get them to do what you want and religion (Especially Organised large scale) as well as government will always have position's that if these worm's can worm there way into they can abuse and use to there own unholy and evil end's.

So it is NOT the church just a great many of the guy's that are supposed to be SERVING IT (Well that got turned on it's head a long time ago, servant's of the Church became Princes of the Church).

And it is not just the highest ranking members, it actually goes from the bottom to the top, that is one reason we were warned Many Shall Come in My NAME but when I come all shall see me.

There are still good people in the church, the church is by the way not the institution OF ANY NAME but the people whom believe in Christ and take his sacrament in accord with his command at the last supper - even if they only take it once in there live's so long as the believe regardless of the ceremony or simple words, regardless of the denomination they are in.

These worm's have taken over the Anglican and Corrupted it, have already had there way with the Catholic and are it's enemy's within, the servants of the devil, they lead the church down the road that takes it away from serving the good shepherd and become one with the wolves, they pray upon the children of the church, corrupt it's morality and blacken and stain it's message turning so very many people away from the word of Christ whom simply give up on there faith because of these scum bag dirty worm's.

But you know what, there IS a very special place for those men in the lake of fire, Jesus even warned in a vision that these immoral priests would be crucified by there sin's because he would not bare them for them.

As Lightning McQuern would say, "KA-CHOW!"

GREAT POST! And thank you for interjecting reason and intelligence. Too often, the truth of the matter gets buried in the reaction/outrage in these matters. What you wrote - this is the line of thinking we should be following. It almost seems as if the anger is directed purposely to the wrong target.

As far as I remember the agency within the Catholic Church coined «The Congregation for Doctrine of the Faith» is the current name used for the agency formerly known as «The Inquisition». For hundreds of years they have framed and convicted and even executed people for ex. being gay. Sort of ironic
