Curios, if only 59% voted, why would the popular vote have any meaning at all?

So I just went to cnn.com to trigger the security settings in my browser at work and the headline says "The crude, sexist tweets Trump made about 'Morning Joe, co-host." What exactly was sexist about the tweets?

There was nothing sexist at all - just more fake news from CNN.
MSNBC are running with fake news too about this tweet.

The one where the system put in place determines our President, the EC.

Don't be one of those PV loons, it doesn't work that way.

Not to mention, voter ID laws would kill that number, ha.

...and ignore the part where the popular vote nationwide means less than nothing. You know that election.

Though the less than sixty percent turnout is extraordinarily disturbing. A direct result of less than sterling candidates--at least in part.

Ever watch anything besides CNN? Yeah, about those statistics? I refer you to the 2016 Presidential election, course you "selectively" forgot about that?

The one where only 59.7 percent of the American population voted and where Hillary won the popular vote?

You mean that election?

Lol, you are still on that.
Love it.

This thread is becoming funnier.

Trump tweets about Mika's botched face lift - Liberal OUTRAGE!
A celeb tweets a photo of Trump's severed head - "free speech!".

No just your usual ignorant hypocrisy. It's funny when my side does it but it isn't funny when it's about my side.

Really so talking about someone just getting a facelift, or calling someone a psycho is equivalent to holding up a bloody severed head a la ISIS?

When Trump is making death threats then you can call it hypocrisy.

No, it's all wrong.

And there was a time when that sort of Hegelian nonsense would have been rejected on a CT site. But, post 9/11, it's all down the rabbit hole.

Good question; while we at it, how's Trump a racist, bigot, homophobic, sexist, racist, xenophobic - like Hillary used to describe Trump and his supporters.

They are questions which we will never find an answer to...

I think they actually DO know that but deliberately lump everyone into the same basket for convenience and to make themselves feel better about it.

House Speaker denounced the tweet. Among others GOPers. Apparently the only ones who support this are Trump bros on the internet.

Actually, you should be too smart to think that if his tweets are tantamount to an Official statement, that they should not be taken with seriousness.

You want people to stop giving his tweets any credence? Then let the White House retract that anything that comes from President Trumps personal twitter account is not official. Then we'll stand by your complacent posture.

Until then, they are no different than official Presidential statements and will be handled accordingly.

We, as US citizens don't want to be judged by a childlike idiot who has zero self-discipline.

In that sense it's the popular vote of the 59.7% who voted.

...and her liberal audience cheered when she said it... lucky she didn't use the word 'facelift'. I'm sure they would have just hated that.

I suppose it's not but in the context of things like "she had a lot of trouble with her looks" DT

And that a facelift is for beauty and appearance and just in case you didn't know this is closer related to female worth based on primal biological mating and cultural preference.

So if she was bleeding from her toe the context may be different. But he could in fact say the same thing. Who knows.

I think it's personally the same as any other deragatory image based response. Like she had a terrible hand mutation it was disgusting. Something usually only children and mentally ill people blurt out.

Agreed, it's all wrong.

Yet, as is their wont, many choose to see one thing as wrong, and another as somehow appropriate. See this thread as an example of that in action.
