Because regular citizen will beg for a police state at some point of everyday danger. They need a working force and future voters just like in the USA. By them I mean globalists/socialists.

Thanks for that example. It is unfortunate. I guess one can view him as a military man with an agenda. I don't know why they are so overly concerned about 'idolatry'. Maybe what caused their reaction/response is the culture at the time who practiced the 'idolatry'. Perhaps they were a corrupt culture. Perhaps that is their beef - the corruption, greed, over-indulgence, deception, arrogance, lack of respect and consideration for others. Maybe they responded to those sort of elements in the cultures they opposed. Perhaps by 'idolators' they were referring to particular canaanite 'pagan' groups like Moloch worshippers? or Baal worshippers?

I think Judeo/Christians also share similar feelings and views toward these religious groups. Like in the Bible - ""Do not worship any other gods besides me.” Do not make idols of any kind, whether in the shape of birds or animals or fish. You must never worship or bow down to them.."

Perhaps what we are seeing is simply the writings of religious groups from the ancient past that were fighting with each other. And now we have people today who read those writings and take them out of context as the whole situation has changed - religious views, groups and all..

Koran is 600 years post Christianity. They in that one verse address all non believers including the past 600 years of Christianity

Quran (8:12) - "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them"

Quran (3:56) - "As to those who reject faith, I will punish them with terrible agony in this world and in the Hereafter, nor will they have anyone to help."

Quran (3:151) - "Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of theUnbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority".

Quran (8:39) - "And fight with them until there is no more fitna (disorder, unbelief) and religion is all for Allah"

Yeah I guess the last verse is not vague. Some translations are less aggressive, but yeah doesn't sound very tolerant to me. Point made.

I wonder though if many Muslims really think that way? I think most Muslims, like the ones I've met here in the U.S. are pretty peaceful and friendly, but I guess who knows what people think..

I highly oppose muslim immigrants coming into our communities and I'm aware of the situation in Sweden. I don't oppose the people because of their race, I simply oppose islam.

I'm fairly confident this story is made up BS.

There is no doubt Sweden has been degraded beyond belief, but it's not that terrible, yet.

Last I checked they have about 80,000 muslim refugees with a population of nearly 10 million; however in 10 years Sweden will no longer be recognizable as the country it was 7 years ago.

We will be soon. This year or next it will come and that is a shame for everyone. Muslims should not be attacked and killed, nor Christians, Hindus, Jews or anyone else.

The Muslim faith as it stands is incompatible with western society and so we should see mass expulsion of these people back to their historic homelands. It won't happen of course because it's 'racist'. So the other path will be trod and countless will be needlessly killed.

See that word "Jizya"? It was an ancient tax, levied on both Muslims and non-Muslims who live in Islamic territories.

Kind of difficult to sustain an argument that the Q'ran demands killing people and then taxing them afterwards.
