This is over-hyped.

Convenient, yet predictable, dismissal of an election. As I already said, if the GOP wins SC05, that's only the second time since the 1880s that a Republican will have won the district... if anything appears to be over-hyped here, it would seem to be the media's narrative that the Republicans need to brace for some mythical voter backlash leading into the mid-terms.

GOP have won SC05 - it's been called

Handel: 51.9%
Ossoff: 48.1%
39% reporting. Stick a fork in Ossoff; he's done.

SC looking red and done, too. Sorry Democrats.

TheRedneck

It's looking worse than that for them.. Handel is currently way way ahead of what Trump won by.

Karen Handel (Republican) 52.6% 96,130
Jon Ossoff (Democratic) 47.4% 86,531

about 65-70% reported.

Handel up 88462 to 79281.

NYT has doubled her win expectancy, predicting she will win by 2.6 percent.

95% in in the South Carolina election, Forbes has called it for the republican. If that true, only the Georgia election is left for the dems to get one.

Yep not looking good fopr the dems.

I just want to hit this point home.

The dems say Trump is so unpopular, and they spent more money than any other congressional race ever, and it still looks like they are going to lose.

Instead of blaming Russia, or sexism, or any other lame excuse, maybe its time to for the dems to in the mirror and realize the people aren't buy what they are selling.

All that money... when this is over, I wonder how much they spent per vote with nothing to show for it.

Did someone mention "referendum"? Maybe they meant a referendum for the Dems to get an actual message/plan to legitimately help their country?

I'm watching them too. Hoping to see at least one of the "experts" cry and scream in agony tonight. Reality totally escapes the tiny brain of domestic terrorist CNN.

Handel has a 10,000 vote lead with 50% reporting... nah, let them get busy crying in their beer.

How come they are SO far behind the reported numbers?

Picking a candidate who doesn't even live in that district, shows how loony and dysfunctional the Democrat "machine" has become in this country. What an insulting slap in the face to Democrats in those central Georgia counties!

Democrats nationwide should be disgusted by their party's impotent leadership.

More than 50% reporting - it's about 70%.
The 50% is completed precincts, but partial results have come from others.

You can bet there will be a tweet from Trump talking about Democrats wasting money again if this result holds out.

Because the people who operate the control room at CNN are depressed and popping pills.

Now they're taking out their frustration on Donald Trump. Back to bashing the U.S. President!

They are trying to capture Nielson ratings. When their viewers know their going to lose these elections and change the channel, there goes the ratings.

If only they'd spent their money on healthcare or education.

Ossoff was as big of a fail as Clinton.

He's way too young, doesn't live here, and has little to no experience in the political arena....maybe try again in a few years...

But I'll bet he's living the high life right now!
