Director Comey, have you ever been an anonymous source in news reports about matters relating to the Trump investigation or the Clinton investigation? COMEY: Never. GRASSLEY: Question two, relatively related, have you ever authorized someone else at the FBI to be an anonymous source in news reports about the Trump investigation or the Clinton investigation? COMEY: No.
Herridge said one of Comey’s problems “is that in his last public testimony here on Capitol Hill before the Senate Judiciary Committee, right out of the gate in that hearing, he took a series of questions from the Republican chairman, Chuck Grassley and Chuck Grassley asked him whether he had ever been an anonymous source for reporters about the Hillary Clinton email investigation or the Russia case and James Comey testified ‘no.’ “Then he asked him whether he had ever authorized someone else to be an anonymous source on his behalf, on the Clinton email case, and the Russia case, and James Comey said ‘no.’”

No, he did not perjure himself.
He did not act as an anonymous source leaking info to the media and he did not ask anyone at the FBI to be an anonymous source.

He did admit to leaking info to the New York Times, via a friend who wasn't named, didn't he?

I think my timeline is off. He said that stuff a week before he was fired. It's hard keeping all these dates straight.

Did he perjure himself when he claimed he leaked the memo to the NYT in response to a specific Trump Tweet? A tweet that it turned out was written a day after the NYT got the memo

There is a lot of context to that we simply do not know. It's quite possible that his friend gave the NYT the memos and told them to wait for their say-so to release them. So they have it in their hands, but do not release them until Comey sees the Trump tweet and gives the thumbs-up to his friend.

That doesnt change the fact that he leaked it BEFORE the tweet not BECAUSE of the tweet as he said. That was a lie.
Comey didnt go to the attorney general. He leaked an FBI memo to the press. That avenue is not even part of the government.

I agree with you. Lots of unknowns.
We don't know when Comey wrote the memos.
We don't know when he gave them to his friend.
We don't know when his friend gave them to the Times.
We still haven't seen the memos.
It's very easy to get confused by the timeline because of this.
