These 10 Commandments of logic are good to remember regardless of the topic. This is the first time i've come across them and thought that i'd share.

I really like number 10

How many of you who have experienced the MEs see 101, 111, 202, 222, 303, 313, 333, 1010, 1111, 1212, 1222, etc on a regular basis? You just happen to glance at a clock, a license plate, pay for something that randomly but constantly comes up to one of these?

Skeptics same question.

I am not asking for an explanation from either group but it would be interesting to see if this "coincidence" is involved

Ok, interesting, this has been happening to me years now. It has become a constant that I just shrug off. Started out it was always 3 numbers all day and even at night if I woke and glanced at a clock often it was 3.33.
Changed to be a 1 or 0 in the middle with 2 same numbers on the ends. If I awake at night I will see 3.03 or 3.13 these are most often. I have mentioned the continuity of it to Family and how odd it seems to me to be right on the dot when I glance at a clock. Sometimes for no reason, I just feel pulled to look at the clock and it happens every day and most night to early mornings.

Me too. Hubby has started noticing this also. We text alot and our messages often get stamped with these times, registers will spit them out when we make purchases, license plates, addresses... if coincidence it seems awfully persistent.

I just did a google search and find there are many reporting this, but I strangely have never seen 4.04 or 4.14, 4.44 and many people do. All of this time several years I don't recall it being 4 or 8's.

I get the full spectrum of repeating numbers often in a row... started in 2014 for me.

I'm not 100% sure what it means yet.. i've read the numerology things but they don't seem to fit with the experience.

They didn't do it intentionally. People didn't have access to as much information back then. You couldn't just log onto the internet and read Mein Kampf, or listen to close friends of Hitler describe him. I legitimately think people just believed it because the eyes appear brown in black and white photos / videos and didn't think twice about it. I think it was just a common misbelief, kind of like most religions are today. Hitler was portrayed as a villain and a hypocrite. Brown eyes fit the narrative. Do the math.

Well, most people with brown hair do have brown eyes so it is easy to assume.

True that. It's rare to find blue eyes and brown or black hair.

I think it's usually dark hair/dark eyes. Easy assumption.

If nothing else, the ME does make you question what we take as truth. Whether it's a real phenomenon or merely psychological, it is still an interesting avenue of inquiry.

Perhaps in a sense those drawn to this thread find human behavior and thought to be fascinating.

I, for one, enjoy watching people and their interactions. Psychology and religion have always interested me to the point that i would pursue both should the educational opportunity ever present itself.

Yes, exactly. It's easy to assume, which is why it was a common misconception back then.

I'm also not convinced his hair was brown either. Some pictures show it lighter and shadows can make hair appear different colors in photos. I'm not saying his hair was blonde, but it was likely lighter brown or like a mix.

For me, the first indication that something was off was Tianenmen Square. I was just sick and horrified as a fifth grade girl to see footage of a young kid get annihilated by a tank. It was absolutely my first time watching someone die, and violently, on film and it made a huge impact. I found out about Mandela after hearing someone say he had lived!

.

Surely if what you say happened there was no way any TV company would have shown the footage, can you remember what channel you would have watched it on ?, there was no internet in the UK in most households with access to uploaded user content, also the event was hugely important as A stance against war not a glorification of it.

I dont have an opinion on why we think differently on this event but I was 15 at the time and clearly recall a tank being halted in its progress by a brave human soul.

Oh man I would be very hard pressed to come up with a tv station from 28 years ago (when I was 10). BUT.. you make a good point about who would cover such a traumatic event.. the vietnam war was televised but I think that our media has historically kept imagery of death out of public view.

So I have nothing for you.. BUT can say that the crushing footage would have been far from a glorification of war- more like the horror of its reality.

I could not tell you how I could have carried that wrong imagery in my mind all those years (perhaps my young mind developed the situation to its horrific alternate conclusion and that's wht remained as memory?).. but it is definitely possible!
