Sounds to me like he's referring more to the door than the clock.

That's exactly what I thought. If you look at the door, it doesn't look like it was originally a door. It has skirts at the bottom to blend in with the surrounding walls. It looks like the doorway was cut out at a later date to the original design of the Oval Office.

Hmmmm... interesting. I see some additional codes in that Comey statement, but I hesitate to post it on an open forum. I am very concerned for our president. The DC swamp is even more dangerous than I thought and they are hiding something in the Deep State that is scandalous.

The reference to the 'back door' by the CLOCK (Read: TIMES) means to leak it 'anonymously' to 'The Times'.

But the Clock itself has what looks like Roman architecture.

And we don't what influences the Clock was exposed to before it was placed in the Oval Office.

There seems to be a 170 year gap.

It would make sense that the memo included hidden clues to to his leaker friend on where and how to leak it.
This also shows premeditation to leak this information at the time of it's creation...not as a response to Trump's tweet.

The door is supposed to be a "hidden door" to the Oval Office. The lock seems to be poorly installed and the strangest thing is that in almost every picture I have seen of the door, it has either been open or partially open.
