Yes, really.
Fox News
Town Hall
ABC News.....

Despite extensive evidence that Hasan was in communication with al Qaeda leader Anwar al-Awlaki prior to the attack, the military has denied the victims a Purple Heart and is treating the incident as "workplace violence" instead of "combat related" or terrorism.

it is what it is, no speculating needed.

people died, the gunman is at large...that is what it is when something like this first happens.

to speculate and focus on trying to find out the religion, skin color, social status of someone is dumb.

To speculate about that puts your mind in a frantic mode to try and fit it into your agenda...a Muslim that donnie could have kept out...a BLM member...a redneck trump fanatic.

To speculate just wastes time and energy. All you can do (should do) is focus on the facts as they come in...to assume is to be an ass...

So did someone snap or was it more Ramadan craziness? Right now, anything is possible, but usually, this is workplace trouble.

what does ramadan have to do with it?

Police chief mentioned Ramadan as the reason patrols in the area were stepped up and their response time was so quick.

then it would seem the police chief is stigmatizing a holy month, much the same way as "devils night" for samhain.

Or ... since it has been year since Pulse and Muslim radicals like to memorialize significant dates with more mayhem, Orlando is a bit on edge right now.

You never know what the Orlando LEOs have been told by DHS. It hasn't been that long since the DHS went on record saying what he knew made him never want to go home at night or something like it.

profiling is unethical at best and illegal at worst.

I don't think the Chief was trying to stigmatize Ramadan...I think he meant that the police were on higher alert for terrorism because of Ramadan.

He everybody help me find out who it is!
I have the arrest records for his 2014 charge narrowed down to 4 pages of 56 arrests with suspects aged 41-43 in all of 2014 in Orange County. If we dig hard enough, we can uncover the identity before the media releases it!
Orange County filtered search results for 2014 charges of battery/assault for male ages 41-43

I just started on page one. The problem is we would have to somehow cross check all the names with other charges that match the story's suspect individually. Unlike my own county who does not have as thorough of a search engine, they provide less details such as arrest location, the judge's comments, and employer information.

But we have it narrowed down to just over 200 people now at least, thats a start right??

I didn't do any speculating on who it was because.... wait for it.... I didn't know anything yet.

No point in speculating that it might be a redneck white guy from the everglades, or a black thug from the bad part of town, or a Muslim hell-bent on killing everybody. Unless you are trying to push an agenda.

Yeah, you're right. In this brave new world, no one is ever just curious about things. We all wait to be told what to think by the official people in charge.

Because it makes so much more sense to set our minds to something regardless of what the facts are.

And has been known to save lives, but I get it, you love it when old wheelchair bound ladies, special needs kids, and cancer patients get the TSA shakedown because they clearly might be planning on blowing up an airplane.

How about a new law/police policy/whatever.

No shooters left alive! And shooter is classified as just
brandishing a weapon during a crime.

Oh, horror! It's a mystery ... on a conspiracy forum!

Do you honestly think anyone has a ton invested in whether its Professor Plum or Colonel Mustard?

I am still going with a disgruntled employee in a small company where everything is more personal. They either got ahold of a bad apple who takes everything way too personally or someone who might otherwise have been OK got too involved and took it way too personally.

How about this:
Press reported the company had an employee lawsuit for $2500 (for unpaid wages) brought against it about the time the guy was fired in April.

Maybe I need to search their clerk of the court for records pertaining to the business name then.

I sort of agree with you. To make up your mind before hand is folly, and should be rejected.

But I don't see the harm of us on here speculating, as long as we are willing to accept facts.

I don't think eliminating any speculation is particularly useful.

Wrongful termination? Still fits with the employee took something way too personally. Two employees who can't get along. One gets fired and the one who gets fired feels like he got the shaft and shouldn't have.

Still doesn't excuse killing.

If thats what it is over, and five people just lost their lives over $2500, that is unreal.

No matter what the motive is its a tragedy, but to see something so little spiral so far out of control is a sobering reminder of the need to not sweat the little things.

Press reported there was no evidence it was filed by the shooter...Only coincidence.

clearly stigmatizing an entire demographic is preferable to discovering that perhaps not all those who share a religion, race, sexuality, political affiliation or source of income with murderers share that inclination to destroy. generating an atmosphere of irrational generalizing fear is how salem happened. burn the witches....even the ones that arent really witches. it breeds resentment. resentment inspires hatred. hatred perpetuates the problem. profiling creates more enemies than it subdues. and you are better than ad hominem ketsuko, i am not the ball.
