You stated Christians are ‘doomed’ (lol) to preaching the word to ourselves.

Wrong. I said you are doomed to preach to the converted. You specifically. Silo Thirteen.

For the record, I do not regard you as any kind of Christian. You are a member of a degenerate American salvation-cult that has devolved from Christianity.

Pears and swine and all that.

If you put pears before swine they will gobble them up. But don’t worry, I shan’t wait for your postcard.

Chuck Missler
Plagiarist & False Prophet

A Los Angeles Times article reported that Missler and co-author Hal Lindsey had plagiarized a portion of Miami University Professor Edwin Yamauchi's 1982 book Foes From the Northern Frontier in their own 1992 book The Magog Factor. After the plagiarism was acknowledged, book shipments to bookstores were discontinued and all of the authors' proceeds donated to a ministry.

Missler has also been accused of plagiarism of New Age writer Michael Talbot's 1992 book The Holographic Universe in his 1999 book Cosmic Codes: Messages from the Edge of Eternity. Missler has also acknowledged this plagiarism and has since publicly apologized. He said a correction would be inserted in all unsold copies and the book itself updated in subsequent printings. Missler has donated all of the author's proceeds from the book to a ministry.

Combining his experience with technology and his fascination with Bible prophesy, Missler was also outspoken in predicting that the Year Two Thousand, i.e. "Y2K" "bug" would become key to beginning of the apocalypse beginning on January 1, 2000. In 1998 he co-authored a book with John Ankerberg investigating whether America would survive the crises to be caused, he claimed, by embedded computer chips that would malfunction on what they would calculate as year zero. Hank Hanegraf of Christian Research Institute called the reasoning in Missler's video series "subtly deceptive" and "sophistry". [Missler also] ran an on-going web-site about what he predicted would be the Y2K disaster. Wikipedia

Sadly typical of the kind of religious scamsters American cultists love to idolize and bankroll. I wonder whose ‘ministry’ profited from his ill-gotten gains.

He made a mistake, he made his apologies and he gave away all the proceeds to a ministry.

Good money or bad, he didn't keep it.

Anyway - if your witch hunt includes bringing to light mistakes made by a man who’s spent the entire second half of his life trying to help people understand the bible better? Knock yourself out.

It's much easier to pull down then to actually listen to him and give him a chance.

His video on Quantum Physics and Hyper Dimensions is fab! As is the Electric Universe.

I might as well just post them as I can’t get the links to work.

He made a mistake.

Yes. Twice, I believe.

There were also some questionable business dealings before he went into the salvation industry.

he gave away all the proceeds to a ministry.

A ministry? He should have given it back to the people he filched them from. The authors whose work he passed off as his own.

His video on Quantum Physics and Hyper Dimensions is fab! As is the Electric Universe.

Sorry, not impressed. I went to university to learn physics. Electric-universe 'theory' is pseudoscientific balderdash. As for 'quantum physics', I can imagine Mr Missler's take on that.

your witch hunt

Madam, you were hunting witches aplenty in this thread before I asked you a question about Biblical authority. I thought it fit to offer you a taste of the same medicine. I am sorry I had to be so blunt about my opinion concerning your beliefs, but then you were pretty blunt about what you thought were mine.

I think our conversation has reached a rather predictable end. It's a pity things never seem to work out otherwise. As Dr Johnson said of the slatterns he and Boswell saw abusing one another from their balconies across the street, 'They will never agree, because they are arguing from different premises.'

I wish you a pleasant day.

thats why im skeptical about science and religion sharing a bed...because religion plagiarizes science to support an unrelated framework of moral and metaphysical concepts without doing all the legwork that science benefits from. it is cheap and lazy and that missler fellow is an embarrassingly obvious example.

What question was asked?

No one asked you anything.

A person had a different interpretation of whats in the Bible.

This is what i was pointing out, you have always argued or at least it reads as though you think your interpretation is correct, hence why I said I see this in every thread you participate in.

If someone chooses to remain ignorant, thats fine.

is it?

Why the change of heart all of a sudden?

its not ok to remain ignorant when shown the truth

Reminds me of a similar incident where someone claimed as fact and that they had just proven it "chapter and verse" something that they never did and later was shown the actual "Chapters and verses" that refute both the claims themselves and the claim to have proven said refuted claim.

In fact this person didn't quote A verse from ANY chapter because the 2 claims made aren't in it.

1 was "Abraham wasn't going to kill Isaac because he knew God was testing him." All that was done was a name dropped and link given that I can only guess was a long sophistry based argument to support what on plain English the Bible, in a truly fundamental story to three religions who all actually agree on the interpretation though Ishmael pbuh is actually the one in the Qur'an, which is supportable with the Bible as it contradicts itself saying "First born son" which was Ishmael pbuh and no argument can change that other than to abandon logic as Hagar pbuh was a wife and Ishmael legitimate and the first born.

Regardless we agree it was a true test of faith and that Abraham pbuh definitely didn't know what God planned to do as the story leaves no room for that interpretation because it would not be a true test if he new that he was being secretly tested, and he was being secretly tested.

Only this person DIDN'T admit he was wrong and refuses to even respond to the person who proved him wrong after they ran there mouth for so long.

Now is saying it's a good thing to admit you were wrong when you were but isn't doing it himself, about some guy. You are probably aware I'm talking about you.

Good money or bad, he didn't keep it.

Anyway - if your witch hunt includes bringing to light mistakes made by a man who’s spent the entire second half of his life trying to help people understand the bible better? Knock yourself out.

You make it sound meritorious to teach from a book that is self contradicting, doesn't teach the theology of the Trinity, that Jesus pbuh is God, which is flat out denied by Jesus pbuh and this person is teaching people to "Understand" a lie, that Paul was an Apostle and not the enemy he really was and that it's actually obvious by reading the book, etc.

This is just being a liar.

If anyone teaches that the Bible teaches Trinity or that Jesus pbuh is God they lie.

If they don't admit that Paul teaching it's ok to eat idol meat in violation of the Jerusalem Council declaration of the Holy Spirit through James is PROOF he was a false prophet because Jesus pbuh in Revelation condemns this specific teaching as the teaching of Balaam, which IS PROOF Paul COULD NOT POSSIBLY have been teaching what was revealed by Jesus pbuh, because Jesus pbuh CONDEMNS THIS TEACHING.

That's just charlatanism. Same thing been going on since Nicea, a religion not based on its own scripture that contradicts its Messiah and is loyal to his slanderer instead.

It's big business. Lying that the New Testament is not hopelessly corrupted and not close to the religion of the Messiah, James, Simon Cepha and all the Apostles and disciples who knew Jesus pbut or at least an Apostle.

Pretending Paul wasn't a total scumbag and Herodian Jew loyal to Rome more than anything else, a spy and infiltrator for the purpose of corrupting, destroying.

It's why the Jewish Nazarenes and Ebionites went to Damascus and Mesopotamia, Arabia to get away from Rome and never regarded Paul as legitimate until after Epiphanius at least, when they became Orthodox, the Nazarenes and Ebionites likely became Muslims because it's practically the exact same thing with the Seal of the Prophets saws completing God's Way for his servants.

It's much easier to pull down then to actually listen to him and give him a chance.

His video on Quantum Physics and Hyper Dimensions is fab! As is the Electric Universe.

Good point.

I love watching these faithers try and stumble to recite from their bibles and try and up their egos for the better of their own insecurities. This entire forum topic would cease to exist if we just said it all was pure 'fiction' haha.

Shouldn't we move this into the 'hoax' bin?

Try and 'stumble' to recite?

Try and up my ego?

Insecurities?

SMH - See, if I wasn't a Christian that might have triggered me. That I am? It reminds me of just how glad I am to know the Holy Spirit who puts words in my mouth when I need them, who I humble myself to and who is always there for me if I fail and feel insecure.

Thank you for reminding me how blessed I am.

'And they will have scales over their eyes' and 'hard hearts'.

You can say it's fiction all you want - but repeating yourself does not make what you say the truth.

The only thing in life you'll find that has any more truth is math. That and the bible. Not in that order.

Haha. I think that did trigger you. If you were a true Christian you wouldn't have "disdain" for those who are 'different' from you. You are insecure because as soon as I make a statement on here, you are quick to reassure me that you are happy to be a Christian and you start babbling some poetic-sounding Jesus nonsense that sounds more rehearsed than some plays I've heard at elementary schools. "how glad I am to know the Holy Spirit who puts words in my mouth when I need them, who I humble myself to and who is always there for me if I fail and feel insecure. " Who are you trying to reassure? Me or yourself?

And yeah I can say it's fiction all I want. It's fiction. It's fiction. It's fiction. It's fiction. It's fiction. It's fiction. It's fiction. It's fiction. It's fiction.

Oh...and btw. I could definitely say the same about you. Just because you say Christianity is true over and over again (with no evidence to back it, whatsoever) does not mean it is true. See how it can work both ways?

Thanks for reminding me how grateful I am that I'm not under the trance of your god cult.

Biggest plot twist:

In the OT it is spelled out that bestiality is wrong.

Exodus 22:19
"Anyone who has sexual relations with an animal must be put to death.

Leviticus 18:23
Do not have sexual relations with an animal and defile yourself with it. A woman must not present herself to an animal to have sexual relations with it; that is a perversion.

But then, he made a new covenant for the NT.

And then suddenly he changes his mind on bestiality...

Ezekiel 23:20
There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses.

Woooww. Mind-blowing! More plot twists than a Harlequin romance novel. My goodness.

P.S. If you could not sense the sarcasm, I feel sorry for you.

Nobody can answer this question, even the most genius minds in science can't look into the past and say in what year the earth or even man was created.

It's about as futile as pounding sand or chasing the wind to ask, unless you are actually a scientist forming a new theory that will be the new accepted fact...lik 4.5 billion is any less of a guess than 3 million, provable or able to be disproven neither it can be said whatever one wants.

In 1 AD they thought 5500 years had passed since Adam to Christ or would, at least according to the 1&2 books of Adam and Eve, Apocryphal but they show what was believed and that is that 5500 years would pass between Adam and Christ's birth.

We are of a different opinion today as people are just about willing to accept anything a scientist says as theory as if factual and are encouraged to, I believe they adjusted the definition of theory just for this reason to include theories as accepted unprovable facts.

So they say the Universe was empty once or just didn't exist at all until one moment changed everything and we go from a Bang that is Big to a harmonious natural existence with the planets spinning as designed since....existing.

I don't see why you have to be religous to believe in intelligence creating rather than chance.

Actually if one believes that chance is the cause of the existence of the Universe and life and not an Intelligent Creator I don't think they are very intelligent at all especially since the odds are against, logic is against it, it was ACTUALLY THE JESUIT PRIESTHOOD ORDER who came up with the Big Bang Theory!!!

It's authors are fanatical Catholic Church members of an esoteric order.

So am I assuming by thinking you refuse to admit you were wrong but your silence is (obviously) proof that you are aware I have proven you wrong in addition to catching you make a third false claim, ''Chapter and verse" is how you say you refuted me, right before I honestly did that to you?

I would imagine that a decent Christian would not have trouble with this, it's not like it's debatable. I can quote the comment where I quote the Bible and cite the chapter that has Isaac's ordeal and doesn't even mention his age you said you proved it was 30 though.

The other is not debatable as it says Abraham was prevented from killing Isaac and informed by an angel THAT MOMENT that it was a test.

But I am not at all shocked as I don't recall the last time admitting they were wrong (a Christian) didn't have ulterior motive or actually happened period.

Usually if you defeat them in debate the go mute online.

If in person they invoke the devil at you. 'Satan is in you!"
