Is there any actual concrete evidence that he told them to kill

Have you studied the evidence of the case?

I haven't. But I reckon if you were curious you could pour through all the stuff and decide from there.

The cult has a high body count. upwards of 35 people in total, almost all the cases dropped due to either not enough evidence or dropped because the life sentences were already in place so was pointless.

How do people Like George W Bush, Dick Cheney, Obama, Hillary Clinton, etc, walk free after destroying the worlds of millions, but Manson he's somehow a threat to the earth in the face of them?!?

He's a madman, let him rot!

"I'm nobody. I'm a tramp, a bum,a hobo, a box car and a jug of wine, and a straight razor if you get too close." -Charlie Manson.

Manson will never get out. He doesn't even want out. All I can say is, when I was young, I thought he was "crazy,." The older I got, the more I viewed the world and how it "works," the more what he has said over the years made sense.

I don't think the guy is someone to be praised. I certainly don't think he's a role model. I just think he's wasted brilliance who realized which way the wind was blowing before most others did. He was talking about the corruption of the elite before anyone even considered just how sick the "system" is.

As far as the crimes, he wasn't directly involved. Did he provoke it? I don't know. The official story is that he did. He has said from the beginning he didn't. Doesn't mean much. I'd say he's exactly where he should be...

Epic Answer

Manson on intelligence

Yes yes yes Godwin's law.

I don't think it matters he dosent seem to want out wiki says he wasent even shown up to a parole board meeting since 97

The list of mental illness is rather long ... I wonder if he would of ever gotten out of a mental hospital if he was born in more modern times ... a mental hospital was far worse than any prison back than

In ATS opinion, what do you think it was about Charlie that brought people to gim. Typical charismatic leader? Was it simply the drugs? Or do you think there was more to him.

I'm here to learn and talk about past and current cults and their leaders and see if there is any link or common characteristics between them all. I decided to start with Charlie.

Let him out. His notoriety is being used against him. We are supposed to have a fair and impartial judicial system, it's lacking in many areas.

It's hard to word how I think of it. He let people do what they wanted to do and reinforced that. I don't mean let there as one would normally take it but in a way. A lot of the people around him looked up to him because of his intelligence and charisma.

Add in the regular use of hallucinogens and put these people somewhere the outside world stops mattering so much. Sort of like Leary or Kesey, leaders in close-knit psychadelic-centric groups.

All three attracted the same types of seekers. Almost like they were doing the same experimentation with different controls...

Well, I think his "personality" had a lot to do with it. Say what you want, he's entertaining, regardless of your personal opinion of him. Also, as I said, he was talking about things in the 60s that some people are just now catching on to... Namely, just how corrupt and inept the inner workings are of our political system and institutions.

I know a lot of people don't know a lot about him beyond his crimes; to them, I would say watch the interviews. Listen to what he's saying, I mean really listen. Then come and tell me he's not at least partially right about somethings within this society. I know, I know, a broken clock can be right twice a day, but...

Like I said, I don't think the guy is very praiseworthy, but I don't think one can offhandedly say the guy is stupid. He may very well be "crazy," but that doesn't equate to stupid.

I think the master manipulator will die right where he belongs. He was a much better musician than person, and should have stuck with music. Sick and twisted F#k.

The Helter Skelter Movie 2004, shown him as taking in people who had problems in life, knowing how to talk to them, making them finally feel like they had value(and through communal life), they did what ever he wanted(sure drugs was included as well).
Also,
Can't recall the documentary right now: I believe it had claims that he was CIA placed into the Hippy culture that he otherwise despised, to try to bring down the whole revolution, which was helped along through psychedelic drugs(CIA) anyway when it wasn't supposed to be positive. Also, that Roman Polanski used him for orchestrating the killings or that may have been a Hollywood drug deal or other gone bad associated with the people at the Polanski home that night.

Yeah, Manson used to be considered to be insane but I just wonder if they released him now, if he'd stand out any more?

The world has continued to go insane and he has been sort of stuck in prison.

The TV has stuff that is eight times as insane as Manson was, and that's just the news.

You can't reintegrate an 80 year old prisoner into society.

He made his own choices.

They would never release him theirs a follower of his locked up down the road from where I used to live and it was always a big thing when he went up for parole...
"During the nearly half-century since the slayings, parole panels have decided five times that Davis is no longer a public safety risk. Officials cited his age and good behavior behind bars, including his earning of a doctoral degree and ministering to other inmates." Luckily the bats # crazy governor's in California are on to something and keep over turning the parole board's decision to let him out. The guy may have a got Doctorats but that just means he will be a smarter criminal as far as Charles let him rot and toss out the key.
P.s this website is real interesting on cults I like the survivor story's (ritualabuse.us...)

He's not an economic criminal like Bernie Maddoff. Bernie Madoff could be reintroduced to society at a late age with little or no threat to public safety. He conspired to kill people.

If Tookie Williams, who was put to death, can't get free, then no, Charles Manson stays in jail.

Yes, they should let him out. His son Marilyn is a wreck and someone needs to set that boy straight.
