Would have been cool if his parents told him he might come across an image that is not real and a mean joke.
Did They?
Maybe

Can't miss a chance to play on people's emotions though.

What you are blaming the parents???
Jeez, a new low.

i said it is a possibility.
i dont thin its a stretch to think trump would use this to play on peoples emotions.

Sounds like you are projecting.

projecting what?
i dont understand

projecting my opinion that i think it is totally possible trump would use this???

Yeah, the kind of person who would see this as nothing much and dream up some plot by parents to terrorise their kid for their own gain. Takes a certain kind of mind...

so you are saying it is in no way possible that trump is using this to play on peoples emotions?
of course it is possible

and yeah..my mind is warped. youre not telling me anything i dont know

Of course the first amendment should be defended but the first amendment says nothing about not having any consequences. You're free to say whatever you like, that doesn't mean you can't lose your job over it or won't have any consequences.

Try going into work and yelling profanities at your coworkers and bosses. I think something like that deserves termination. Free speech only covers so much.

When the Obama children were brought into it, I called it reprehensible, or words to that effect.

Nobody but Melania, if this report is to believed, brought Barron into this. We're only talking about Barron Trump's feelings because of her.

You can't even accept it when conservatives tell you it was reprehensible to subject Obama's children to this stuff. How about saying something like "I'm glad to hear that." You just can't accept that for some of us this isn't a partisan issue.

Uh, too little too late. Please show me/link me to the posts here on ATS, where right wingers are condemning and crying out for sympathy for the feelings of the Obama children, when the Obamas were publically mutilated and murdered in viral pictorial effigy.

Well there's a shock.

Anything is possible, but I'd rather the person who planned and posted that disgusting image was the focus as opposed to dreaming up possibilities that make it Trump's fault.

I disagree. This is not about playing on people's emotions,it is reporting of a child being upset by the actions of an adult who has totally lost her bloody marbles. If we heard of any regular child being terrified by such an exhibition of lunacy,i bet you would not be so callous.Say someone did that little effed up exhibition with an Obama effigy, and his youngest gal got terrified, and just after her dad became Prez.Jeeezus Keerist on chariot driven Rolls Royce powered crutches can you Imagine the outrage???

Perhaps that's the problem. Everyone is so thin-skinned any more that we get outraged over everything.

It's ironic that many people complain that kids are too coddled and protected these days and say they need to toughen-up, but those same people knee-jerk over something like this.

What this woman has done was poor form and she is paying the consequences for it. Barron, if he has seen this, will get over it.

my point in this whole thing is it is being reported by an unnamed source.

whenever there is a negative story about trump and the source is unnamed the story is dismissed immediately and the cries of fake news are heard.

yet in this instance it is not happening....it is being taken as truth.

why?

cause it it totally possible baron cried for mommy? well it is possible

it is also possible that its bull# and trump is using this to his advantage

Then blame the media for airing the picture for anyone and everyone to see, that includes both left and right wing media.

I do blame the media. Unfortunately, in this day of the internet, crap like this spreads like wildfire. This image will never go away. No matter how often KG says she asked the photographer to remove the image. And that very fact will hurt them in the future. This image will resurface in 2018 and 2020 ad nauseam.

It matters if Barron thought it was real. Most protest effigies do not look realistic. And that was the point of the thread and the effect it had on Barron.

So, it does matter.

but this thread is not about kathy.
it is about the story from an unnamed source claiming baron was traumatized

i live in the real world and in the real world it is totally possible trump is using this....

and i will say again for the 10th time. yes it is possible baron cried for mommy

Lol.

Quite a difference between raising strong, educated, well mannered children who become successful adults and parents compared to toughening up 11 yr olds by showing them pictures of beheadings.

i really dont believe a lot of this outrage is real
i just dont

no facts to back it up.
just a feeling

im sure most think it is in bad taste. i feel that way cause i think was in bad taste and it takes a lot for me to feel that way

but all the screams of having her arrested and investigated for ties to terrorists....
i really dont think people actually believe that #

What 11 year old says "mommy" anyways? Sounds like something a 5 year old would say not an 11 year old. Maybe I'm wrong but it just seems weird that an 11 year old would use that word instead of "mom".

I'm probably looking into it too much but that's something that kind of stood out to me.

youre right it will never come off the internet but it was so disturbing kathy had to take it down and so disturbing that cnn fires her for it yet cnn keep showing it

how does that make sense

here is the image we fired her for posting...over and over again

You're missing the point.

I said nothing about toughening up your kids by showing them this sort of content. What I did say is that it is ironic that those that complain about kids being pussies these days are now among those feigning outrage over this.

Barron will be just fine. He will get over it and he will be tougher for it.

Not any I've ever met. They're usually too preoccupied with their iPhones or tablets to care about what's going on in the political world.

no that stood out to me too

i think that is bull# as well. part of the heart string tug

im sure i/we will get lampooned for that too

but if the unnamed source said
"baron flipped out and had to ask his mom if it was real"

does not evoke the same emotional response as

"baron screamed mommy mommy"

you know

I don't think people are outraged over this either. It's faux political outrage.

Dishonest, to say the least.

I don't think Kathy Griffin realizes how much ammo she just gave the right with this picture.

She gave the perverts in ISIS ammo.

They will probably paint a hijab on her picture and use it for propaganda now.
