Puh, and guess what would have happened if they did that to me, while i try to help them. I wouldn´t turn into a Nazi, but after i have said what i would tell them, they would think that i am the father of Hitler, maybe(because they don´t understand what i tell them, just see me lunatic screaming and gesticulating, like that little moustache from austria, ready to murder somebody...). I learned to live my life by "one hand washes the other", and i hate nothing more than unrespectful individuals, because life doesn´t work like that!

Curious is, there is a refugee shelter, an old, closed school that is used now as refugee shelter, 200m down my street. I swear, i never heard about similiar from there. I never saw the police or fire brigade there, never heard people, neighbours, talking about such things. Even the security there is looking very chilled. I see german kids playing there with refugee kids, the best way to learn our language and how we germans act, for them.

But i heard from that pakistani guy, who first had to live in similiar circumstances, in another shelter, from his first hand experience, that inside of "his" shelter(till we helped him to find an appartment) the same sh*t was going on as you described.

But i can just tell about things i see by myself, feel by myself, and from that view, outside, on the streets, almost nothing changed. The reason might be that Cologne was "multi-kulti" since i can think, since i was born in the 1970´s, i don´t know anything else here. And that we know criminality here, we were even called the Chicago at the Rhine, for a while. And even that is celebrated here, i guess many here need just reasons to celebrate and drink Kölsch, we celebrate everything, even our criminals, pimps, bordells and the whole surrounding scene.

But i am pretty sure if they start to act as you described, on the streets here, they will get shown how we handle this here, we don´t care about courts and/or police(they either only come if it is bad for you, not to help). Do you remember how, after the Cologne NYE events 2015/16, people patrolled the area where everything happend? Ok, that was kind of a lynch mob, but nothing happened, nobody innocent was harmed.

That were not all nazis. it were a lot of rockers and even average people that were fed up to the backteeth, because everybody thought that all german are wimps and can´t even protect their women. Btw, many turkish/kurdish/muslim migrants were with that rocker group. And average migrants were and are fed to the backteeth too, because now they all are "evil Ausländers" again, because of others, of rotten apples.

If they try to do the "Chuck Norris" here, they will get Chuck Norris, i am pretty sure!

It´s a whole Bundeswehr base, now its down to 500 but it was at 1800+ refugees for a year, in a 25000 people town. Believe me, that did not went unnoticed by the population.

Even the russians, that are living around the base and protested for a while. Then came the left and accused them of being (neo)nazis. Police had to "protect" them (they were in a freaking military base with fences. Although they also get attacked when 150-200 people of different nationality start a fight with weapons like stones and chair feet (this is not the right word) and they jump in to end it. Next day, they stand with their back towards them and "protect" them from "the german nazis".

Crazy times.

They even get training in martial arts, to "release the steam". Just wait, just wait.

Edit; That being said, never underestimate your opponent in a fight. Biggest mistake you can make in a fight if you ask me.

Thank you so very much. I've been a lurker here on cats off and on, for years, but this is the very first time I've responded to anything by chiming in. But your post just grabbed me - after reading all of it, I know more basic facts about Germany than I've gathered in one place...well anywhere. I'm interested after this and will now actually go out of my way to read up on your history and culture. Thank you!

To be fair here, the true victims are deeply traumatized and deeple disturbed. Someone who got here in the mid 90s, he was forced to fight with the serbians against his own people, the only reason he did not kill himself was because then, they´d kill his wife and kids in jail. Imagine the strain it takes on you, imagine the conflict.

Is my family dead already? Can I stop this now or will they be tortued to death? Imagine asking this yourself every day.

yea no doubt many traumatised people fleeing conflict in syria, lybia, somalia and elsewhere, but the number of incidents accross europe where these people are given shelter, just makes me think that they are under psychological programming to think europeans are stupid and weak, and that they should take advantage and humiliate us in every despicable way.

I have to laugh a little bit at some of your responses. I lived in Germany for a number of years and you sound exactly like many of the Germans I knew. Your gripes about what people think of you are common but they are based in a lack of perspective. No one smiles in Germany, there are no German flags anywhere (outside of government buildings, US military bases, and world cup time, that is), and there aren't many random conversations with a German that go deeper than: hallo. All of these seem normal to the locals (as they fit the definition of normal to a T ) but to many outsiders these things make your populace and country seem less than friendly. What's normal to them is not normal to you.

To German's, an American is odd. To an American, German's are odd. Different cultural norms lead to these perceptions. But deep down inside, Germans are just as friendly as Americans (or even Australians for that matter), just in different ways.

It can be done through google, maybe there is a way to influence the auto correction. Send enough requests with that search string an it will be pushed up in the % of requests.
