Fake news, disinformation and inaccuracies. Why does mainstream media mislead us?
I'd seen Donald Trump say time and time again that the crowd of media reporters surrounding him repeatedly report fake news, repeatedly distort facts about his campaign and election, repeatedly misquote him, repeatedly outright lie and his list af accusations about the lies in the media really doesn't end. This issue with fake news items has become frustrating enough that Presient Trump has declared that he wll not hold any public news briefings, instead releasing fact reports to the media on paper only to reduce the shenanigans. Why do you suppose that the media has been unfair and inaccrate with Donald Trump? Isn't it ironic that the media has become worse than the tabloids? Can anyone enlighten us at to why the news media has become very unreliable and faulty?

A principle of journalism is that the journalist should not become part of the story. They've inserted themselves into the narrative, and they have discredited themselves as informers by doing so.

Just a few days ago Trump claimed that when he appeared on Colbert's show it was the highest ratings Colbert had ever had. Unfortunately he was off by a few million views, even losing out to Jeb Bush of all people.
Now, was he pulling that out of his Presidential ass? Taking credit for another thing he didn't actually do? Intentionally lying? Or simply presenting "alternative facts" as happens every now and then?
Who knows?

The reason for the manufactured outrage is advertising dollars or party loyalty. They have irrevocably discredited and ruined the 4th estate for money or for tribal reasons.
