My posts on this thread were meant to be about behavior and public policy. But instead it always flips around to be about me or what black people think. I think there is a fundamental divide in this country about if even there is a problem. I have heard black people say police will stop black people in car with no cause in a greater frequency that white people. If this is true then the question becomes should we create public policy to address a grievance made by a class of people. I think there are people who will flip the argument around so they don't have to talk about the grievance. People just don't accept the validity of black people's claim. People just assume black people are being racists and have an ax to grind against white people. That may be the case. So having a study so science can get rid of people's superstitions is a good way to start.

Tolerance isn't the word liberals seek, it's acceptance.

Tolerant is negative from the start. It's a cop out from denial of acceptance.

They do spout tolerance a lot though- they're normally speaking about other groups to each other, not themselves personally.

1. Racism doesn't exist in this country.

2. Anyone who complains about racism is a racist.

3. Anyone who gives an example of racism is being exploitative, and hence, is a racist

1. no 2. is correct, 3 makes it look sarcastic, but is also true.

Liberals have never been tolerant. The joke is around it's relationship to acceptance. Liberal ideology in the first place is mandating other parties principles for them. They're an authorization cheerleader. They fight against discrimination, and the last thing they are is tolerant about it. They are very willing to change 'what is discrimination' though as criticism applies itself.

We both agree that calling Alvin an ape involves the use of the word ape in a way not consistent with it's dictionary definition and instead is an insult as per its common racial street use. But you are special and when you use wuss you are able to divorce it from its common street use. The word is loaded and you know it.

I find it hilarious and sad that in a thread about tolerance you are insulting a fellow forum member because their advice is to ignore people when they insult you or your friends.

We're talking in circles, long story short I feel you meant to insult me because I believe people should ignore people when they insult them.

Doesn't matter if you did as I'll ignore it anyways.
