DOJ Shoots Down NYT Report on Comey Request for Extra Resources

The Department of Justice shot down a New York Times report Wednesday claiming days before President Donald Trump made the decision to fire FBI Director James Comey, he asked for increased funding and staff to aid the FBI’s investigation into Russia’s interference in the U.S. election.

The Times reported Comey asked Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein last week for a significant bump in both money and personnel, also reporting that U.S. lawmakers were briefed on the request.

Senior DOJ officials told Fox News that story is “entirely false” and the last meeting between Rosenstein and Comey occurred on May 1, where no request for money or resources was made. The officials also said Rosenstein denied The Times’ report as well.

Comey is small potatoes. The investigators are going to put some real hardcore pressure on Flynn, Yates, Stone, Page and Manafort.

I doubt if they are going to protect Trump after the way they were treated by the WH. They will rat out Trump to save their own skin.

The Oval office is leaking like the proverbial sieve. Trump loyalty is in short supply in an atmosphere of fear even among republicans. Jared and Ivanka see the writing on the wall and are looking for a graceful way to bail.

Way to not address the substance of my post because you know you're wrong. I'm not even a hardcore Trump supporter, I just know lies when I see it. If Trump wanted to derail the Russia investigation he'd have to do a lot more than fire the Director. If you think firing the Director will protect him, you know nothing about how these investigations work. Get informed, then post.
