It's a well known fact that the British rock bands like the Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Animals and others were heavily influenced by the rhythm and blues style of Chuck Berry and Jerry lee Lewis. That was the beginning of rock and roll... ask ZZ Top .. they'll say the same.
