North Korea is an underdog??? I don't even need to read any further after seeing that one phrase. I can't believe people on here are actually defending this psychopath of a country.

Look if you really love North Korea so damn much, why don't you all do us a favor and go live there. Only to watch you beg to be rescued when they throw your sorry carcasses in a work camp for being labeled a "foreign spy".

Yeah ok. I have nothing against the NK people. Their entire government is the scum of the earth that need to be destroyed by any means necessary.

One of the interesting things about anti-stealth radar is that it doesn't work as well against B-2s and larger aircraft. One of the interesting things about low frequency radar is that with an aircraft that has angles, such as the F-22 and F-35, the radar creates an eddy that is detected by the radar, unless they can have something like 3xs the wavelength in structure, which you can't really do with a fighter sized aircraft.

With a flying wing design, there are no angles to create an eddy for the radar to detect, and they have the size to create the structure that's is long enough to block the radar from returning. That makes it much harder for the radar to see the aircraft, making it much harder to locate and direct fighters to look for them.

In addition, low frequency radar on a fighter sized platform, currently isn't good enough to use as fire control. So the best you're going to get right now is guiding other aircraft to the general area to look for them, not exact triangulation.

I firmly believe Russia and China are just being responsible to their border security with their armed forces deployment. A way of confirming where the lines are to prevent errant strikes and such. Of course when the fireworks start, do not be surprised if both of their borers converge several miles in or more in an obvious land grab from both sides.

Just as much, I have zero belief this conflict will go nuclear. Although, the ensuing air campaign will see heavy losses for fighter and bomber craft, but will still prevail. There are more than enough aircraft between the Pacific coalition to pick off the radar and air defense sites as well as their ground assets even with the expected heavy losses.

It will be messy, and will take several weeks to months, but will eventually succeed.

That is what everybody fears. MAD or mutually assured destruction comes to mind. I don't think we will risk that. Kim on the other hand..... well that's his whole problem in a handbag, the attainment and use of nukes.

That's a pretty likely outcome should this be escalated to all out war. China doesn't need 150k troops to stop refugees. That's an invasion sized force. The United States used less than that to Invade Iraq in 2003.

well, in my BS scenario assume they have the tech or they got it somehow from China/ Russia, and just launch it on their Nodong/etc.. missiles - which they have plenty on mobile launchers. They don't need to be super accurate. To get SK they don't even need it to explode over SK, just their own southerly border. They will end up EMPing themselves.....but as I said Norks are used to austerity.

The US doesn't know about every single missile or military location, so even 200 or 300 hundred Tomahawks isn't going to eliminate a missile threat. It took 60 Tomahawks just to crater an airfield. ONE airfield. Maybe US surprise attack also includes major airpower - shock and awe. In that scenario, if I were the Norks in charge, I would be launching nukes right then and there (EMPs at a minimum). Yea, Pyongyang would be incinerated if they were traditional nukes, but I could live (or die in glory) in comfort that I reduced SK major cities and some US bases and major cities in Japan to ashes. That' my logic anyway...but who knows how they would really react.

It really would depend on the severity of the US attack. Which may not be easy to determine...the FOG OF WAR. Fear realized also makes people behave differently too...just as it does to you and me. The Norks might panic and worry that their ace in the holes may get annihilated. maybe some of them do...so they launch before they are all gone. Cuz they know they can't withstand a conventional fight for long with their outdated equipment....unless they have carrier killers and better radar that can guide a missile to blow up F-22, B-2...and presumably they already can knock out some F-16s...

Like some people when their girlfriend breaks up with them, they murder them. If I can't have her nobody will. Maybe KJU and/or others would respond the same way. If I can't eject the US from SK and/or reunite on my terms, nobody will get a (functioning) SK. In india, men throw acid on women's faces when they get spurned. People can do a lot of things out of spite. A lot of business is like that - West or East.

Easy to write on a forum and be rational and all...but fear overtakes rationality in the thick of things...





To hit the carrier, let's say they secretly get targeting data from China/Russia. Super clandestine until it isn't.

If the reports are true that they exploded their own missile (Most recent one)...then indeed may they are testing some type of explosion to trigger a nuclear device. Who can say for sure.
