There's very little time for Trump to act unilaterally. The South Koreans have got an impeached president getting replaced in less than a month. Everyone knows the next SK administration will be very soft on NK.

That'll give NK five (5) years to build it's arsenal of strategic weapons.

"Urgent" is the right word, Black_Fox.

That's actually a good point. It's a point that I have not heard much, if any discussion about....

This situation has me completely confused due to all the mis-info going on.. But IF NK is a threat and intends to make due with said threats once they are fully capable......something needs to be done, and soon.

IF that window is closed for 5 years like you presented.....well.... Yep. Now is the time to do something about it.

That got me thinking, thanks.

What proof is there that he is a madman?

He did just have his relative assassinated on foreign soil. The other family killing. The purges. The having his citizens worship him like a god. Those crazy propaganda films that are kinda 1950s-ish. That he announced a nuke list of American cities, one was Austin, because I guess he hates music and hippies. Well, maybe ill give him the hippies part, but they dont need to be nuked. That everything he says and does really makes one raise an eyebrow about whether he really has any idea of the world outside his kingdom. There could be a novel written about what a crazy sob he is.

There are really two groups on the planet that cannot be reasoned with at all. One is ISIS. The other is fatty Kim. And those are the only two I would support military action against. Theres a lot of idiot leaders out there, but Kim is on another level.

That said, I hope our government is smart about how it handles it, and I dont have much faith in them. If they screw it up, millions of people could be killed.

You're clearly trolling or either you lack in the reading comprehension department more than most. Do you have something to contribute or are you still disgruntled over Hillary's epic fail?

All indications you give regarding his lack of sanity applied equally as well to his father and his grandfather and yet we never threatened to nuke them. It could also be said about Iran.

The point I'm trying to make is that the reason the US is being so bellicose has nothing to do with his sanity or with the actions and words you stated above. The reason is BANKS. Do you honestly believe that anyone on American soil is threatened by North Korea?

This is basically the plot of "Team America World Police". Why the hell can't we just butt the # out of everyone else's business and fix what is wrong in our country. We're like the guy in the neighborhood that complains about the local kid's ball coming in his yard meanwhile letting his dog # all over other people's yards.

Did not vote for Hillary, sorry. You're right, he's crazy. Let's bomb the little bastard to hell. We'll apologize for all the innocents killed on both sides after the fact. Is anyone else sick of going to war?

PS, my reading comprehension is just fine, thanks for the concern.

You guys will be fine. There are ABM's more than enough interceptors to protect Japan. I don't understand why people think millions will die. This is the age of precision bombing, not saturation bombing. For every civilian target nk is hitting, it just means military targets are being ignored. Now if you were the enemy in charge, would you prefer to target civilians, hospitals and schools, or the weapons and bases that will be attacking??

They only start bombing neighborhoods once people are on the ground fighting and need air support. I certainly do not foresee ground forces landing in Japan. Its all going down on the Korean peninsula.

The thousands of weapons the North has pointed at Seoul would be one reason. If they fire preemptively, there's not much anyone can do to stop them from hitting their target.

I HAVE SAID IT BEFORE AND I WILL SAY IT AGAIN!! The only question that needs to be answered is "Can the world wait for NK to further develop its nuclear capability and does the world want a nuclear free Korean peninsula?" The answer determines what needs and must be done now!!

Thats incorrect toby. We rocked the Sht out of north korea in 2004. China knew it. Russia knew all about what we did to north korea too, but both nations were too freaked out by the type of weapon we used to make waves or say abything and i damn well can guarantee after sept 9th neither ccountryis in any hurry to honestly engage the usa in a direct military exchange. They know theyll eat it hard. . Youre just not aware of it. We will do the same again soon. The public may or may not figure it out this time. .

And if you want hints and such as to what went down and what we got...no way.

No spider has good reason to worry north korea would simply store a wmd or dirty bomb in just about any freighter from just qbout any asian country and take out all of the edo prefecture.

North korea needs to be shut down hard they are a threat to the entire world.

All the more reason the pacific coalition needs to blitzkrieg asap. When I say Seoul will be lost, I am referring structurally. But the bombardment would start to die down as the combined air force begins to lay waste to the weapons in the north. Obviously as a realist this means there will be jets and bombers falling out of the sky like the world has not seen since the '40's. But they will run out of ground weapons before our coalition runs out of air power.

This is the sacrifice that has to be made to ensure the future of the peninsula. As was stated earlier, if we just keep ignoring these developments, there will come a day when the north will have more than enough, and then just demand unconditional surrender. What will the consequences be then??

What happened was the US thought it could do N Korea like it does all the non-nuke having countries it deems a threat.

Korea won't bow down. They have nookes for protection from predators like US.

Right on Korea, don't go down without a fight.

It might've been a little troll-like, sorry it's late. But his words are of no consequence whatsoever. He's the third generation of his family who have lead that country and have spoken utter claptrap. What specific actions you're speaking of I don't know. His actions, however, are no different than any other despotic tyrant that has graced the face of the Earth. I don't believe there's any indication that he is likely to do anything to risk his position. He may have many personality disorders due to his upbringing and his extreme power, but I don't believe there's an indication that he suffers from any sort of mental illness.

In my opinion, for the US to make a preemptive strike of some sort would be overwhelming hubris and well over the line crossing from ethically questionable and into completely evil. The real reason we are even thinking about this country at all is because of banking, bottom line. It has nothing to do with nukes.

What he means is the attacks on south Korea that have killed hundreds. Dont think North Korea just sits there they are constantly pushing the South in to conflicts. They even shelled one of there islands next time i guess they can just use a nuke.

No we can annihilate all of north koreas nukes instantly. In the next few minutes if we decide to. Its the freaking out and scaring the rest of the world with our abilities that were treading lightly about. Make no mistake north koreas nukes are not a deterrent to the usa. But they are a threat to the world in general.

Because NK would not be fighting to win a war, but to go with mutual assured destruction as much as possible, they are expecting national suicide.
