Hey ATS. It has been a few weeks. Its not anybody else's business I guess but I wanted to share this to get it off my chest and to try and calm me down at least a little.

So, where do I begin...

Last week on Wednesday I lost my job. I didn't get laid off, I didn't get fired. Nope, the company literally just died like a damn botfly. My boss and his wife packed up and disappeared. The clients and two main projects I had are now gone and are utterly useless. I can't take them to court because they have vanished entirely apparently.

I've got about two weeks left until I'm going to have to leave my flat behind and I'm damn gutted about that but I'm trying tremendously hard not to think about it right now. My girlfriend left me too, which really hasn't helped, as that's over a year of pure happiness down the pan. My family, how do they react to this? They don't even get back to me. Nothing has ever felt more insulting in my entire life than being tossed aside by the ones I expected to catch me when I fell.

Well, rant over. Thank you for reading, just having a chat would make me feel so much better. I'm still in shock and trying my utmost best to keep myself distracted.

Peace.

She said I was putting too much time into my job which is ironic now I guess.

Not technically over
Just needing a restart is all

Give it a couple of months and you will find your feet and then start walking, running, blah blah, inspirational stuff

Yeah, life can be a crap storm and then it gets heavier and thicker and you just have to take one step at a time, remember to breathe

Yeah, that's what they usually say when there's another man. When the cat is away, the mice will play. Best of luck.

Saturday evening. I'll be honest and say I've drank my fair share of cheap booze. Taking each day as they come as they say.

I've already planned to raise some money selling stuff if I can't find a job my next week and I'm going to buy myself a cheap van and live from there. The prospect surprisingly sounds good to me.

Sounds to me like she left because you lost your job. She isn't worth it and she's lying to you.

Living from a van is strangely attractive to me too lol. It will be an adventure and help you clear your head.

Yen and yang. It all balances out. Don't overreact. Don't think so hard. Bad things (in your opinion) are happening now, but good things that you wouldn't have had an opportunity to know otherwise, could be at your doorstep ( in my opinion). Life's like a box of chocolates....

Sorry to hear that, I've been thru the same crap and worse a few times, it will pass. Keep your chin up and go look for some work. Is it possible to explain your circumstance to TPTB and work a deal to stay in your flat?

One thing that life guaranties us is change. It can be good or bad but it's always going to change. It's part of life on life's terms, you just have to roll with it.

You didn't get fired and you didn't quit. That looks great on a resume. Do you still have contact with some of the clients? Phone numbers, etc? If you do, that's gold. Find the closest similar business you can and apply immediately, and tell them you want to try to bring the business from the place that closed. Only an idiot would turn you down.

If there's nothing similar, or for some reason that won't work, reach out and ask for help. Friends, local churches/religious groups, volunteer organizations, etc. You might be able to find some odd jobs just to get by. Also check out things like amazon mechanical turk/gig economy type jobs. The pay is absolute crap but any money is better than zero.

I have no advice on the girlfriend. That sucks and it's going to hurt for a few months no matter what. Just don't let that interfere with you getting back on your feet.
Best of luck!

That's alot of bad at one time. The first reaction is a total meltdown and thinking the worst.

I know for myself when I have received bad, shocking news I think the worst and go into a catatonic state-I can't think.

By the next couple of days I prepare a plan and stick to it either removing myself from either the bad job, needing to move away from negative people, family issues. Somehow the changes required to adapt to the spate of bad luck starts to turn into opportunities.

I had a wise person tell me one time it's like getting on a plane for London but ending up in Paris. Paris is nice but it's not London-but adjustments can make it acceptable and maybe even better-different.

Sudden drastic changes, while not always ending the way we expected or wanted, can open more opportunities and expose us to more of life; just not the way we expected it.

Trust me-haha-I am old enough and experienced enough to know-as Scarlett in "Gone With the Wind" said-"Tomorrow is another day."

Best wishes-hang on-thinking of you.

Hello Jimmy.

Some rough stuff right there. Let me tell you, your life is not over. You made this thread. A dead person can not do that. You feel miserable but it is not never ending. Times change, feelings change, life is a constant chaos of changing. I had a psychotic episode back in 2006, thought i was the reincarnation of Jesus and i was hospitalized for months. Then again in 2009, thought benevolent aliens were coming to earth to save all the good people from the madness this planet had become. Was hospitalized for almost a year. Lost practically all of my friends, was alone, heavy substance abuse, and damn near close to successful suicide.

I survived. It is now 2017. A whole lot of hell would have been avoided on a personal level if a had died, but a whole lot of beauty too. Still trying to cope with lots of stuff.

What if you tried to do just basic things just for a while. Make sure that normal everyday routines are all good, like nutrient filled food, some physical exercise and rest. Social interaction too. Maybe make some popcorn and watch your favorite movie again.

If nevertheless you decide to go, i won't judge you or try more than this to turn your head around. It is your body, your life, and you have absolute and total control over it. Just remember nothing is permanent except change.

Wishing you better times.

-Fin.

Lifes peaks and valleys can be a sonofabitch. Well, it sucks, and life may be rough for a bit, but know with a bit of effort, all that changes fairly quickly overall. just never surrender..even if you find yourself fighting with a racoon over who has sleeping rights under a tree, know tomorrow it will probably get better if you try.

will you continue to have internet access? start a blog on wordpress....you could call it "the loser" or "no job yob" or "ding dong: youre homeless" ....."living in a van".....

create a youtube channel and rant about how everything sucks when your down on your luck.....get advertising set up on the blog.....make a few coins....

how healthy are you....how old? you could donate body fluids....i did that in my 20s and made 75 per week doing that in the good old days when they paid good....dunno if they have plasma donation where you are....its a possibility though. Sperm donation is another and they pay more but they have strict standards....i looked into it and im too old at this point.

good thing is this happening when its almost summer....you could go to Spain and live on the beach for free......get a cheap guitar and learn how to play it and play on the street for eating money......

Join a circus?

Join a traveling carnival? they are almost always needing roadies....

Put ads online and in the papers asking for pensioners who have a spare room for a handyman....you could fix stuff, do yardwork etc.....old folks love that stuff

go door to door ask ppl if they have junk they want to get rid of and you sell it on ebay.

if you have your health youre rich....im getting old and worn out and have no energy for nothing....oh how i long for the days when i could go for days with no sleep and still bounce back.....live out of my car while on jobs....eat crappy food and still function.....those days are long gone....if you have your health there are lots of options for you.....

search google under "ideas when jobless" etc

good luck, we've all been there at least once....some like myself many times.....keep your chin up
