It is on all the pictures I've seen.

Tbqh I cba to ever watch another Dubay video. I have been down that road of circular reasoning and hope to never deal with that misery again.

I just checked though and the "explanation" in question is a Dubay YT vid, provided by member zatara, a couple pages back from this one. The embed doesn't work but this is the link provided.

Prepare to lose a few I.Q. points. Hahaha. Good luck, and Godspeed.

Flat Earthers just make my head hurt. The fact that we discovered the earth was round hundreds of years ago (possibly thousands according to some sources) does not really seem to be a thought in their mind. Its just a ridiculous concept and I am indeed open to many conspiracies, but not this one.

How do you explain this then??

Great thread, other than the insults and name calling.

I look at the earth as a cell that is alive and spinning.. I imagine our understanding of our world around us in this dimension may not be the total truth.

Until the science comes in which states our world is flat, I will believe what the science points to. There are too many holes in the FET for me at this moment.

This thread raises a great deal of concern, people on this forum will readily admit to their belief in a litany of conspiracies, despite there being no proof (i.e. aliens) but will quickly dismiss flat earth discussion, even though there's plenty of evidence to make skeptics question their worldview.

Above Top Secret has already banned Eric Dubay from this website, so he can't even defend himself, while people throw dirt on his name. Here's a news flash, no matter your beliefs, Eric presents well-articulated arguments to support his position, while his detractors here resort to personal attacks and elementary-level reasoning, the level of closed-mindedness on what's suppose to be a conspiracy forum is disappointing.

The alternative masses need to wake up to the masonic agenda on this forum, the powers that be have a vested interest in herding alternative, conspiracy-minded sheep, it's no different than the mainstream media and their flock of sheep, except this forum establishes credibility by pretending to be anti-establishment.

My biggest argument against Flat Earthers (despite over 500 years of mathematics proving the Earth is round) is this.

If the Earth were flat, the stars would be the same in the Northern and Southern Hemisphere. We'd all be looking up at the same sky.

Flat Earth theorists prove that you can find ANYTHING on the internet that will back up your argument, even if it's ridiculous.

Perhaps you are misrepresenting the flat earth "conspiracy". The primary points have very little to do with living under a dome and everything to do with the the lack of curvature evidence. Those that emphasize the dome are not looking at this from an evidence based viewpoint.

a reply to: GGenius GGenius, thank you for your post. It is clear that most people that ridicule the flat earth evidence have not looked into it or do not understand what they are reading. You are so correct in that people will defend conspiracies with no evidence or based on testimonies of "whistleblowers" that can't prove anything they say but will not look at the extensive information that is provided for the flat earth argument.

The fact that it evokes such strong reactions tells me that we need to keep on the trail of truth here.

I am amazed that Eric Dubay is not allowed on this forum. You would think someone with his ability to approach a topic in a logical, common sense way would be a valued member of any legitimate forum. What are we afraid of here? Is the search for truth only acceptable as long as we can stay in our comfort zones?

Eric Dubay - according to his website, a man who apart from being a FE also thinks that Adolf Hitler was misunderstood and was in fact an all round nice guy and yes, he is a rabidly anti semitic Holocaust denier.

He also believes that all of NASA's space missions are fake. Not just the Apollo missions, all of them.

He also believes in a lot of other woo woo stuff.

Ability to approach a topic in a logical common sense way, you say? It should be pretty clear to anyone who looks at his website whose brain has not fallen out that he is in fact a complete loon and a total bell end.

sorry - but mr dubay is neither logical , nor the possessor of any common sense

have you actuallty read his alledged " 200 proofs "

100 of them are plaigerised from a 19th century flat earth pamphlet

and the 200 are a gish gallop see :

180) The spinning ball model dictates that the Earth and atmosphere would be moving together at approximately 500mph at the mid-latitudes where an LA to NYC flight takes place. The average commercial airliner traveling 500mph takes 5.5 hours traveling East with the alleged rotation of the Earth, so the return flight West should take only 2.75 hours, but in fact we find the average NYC to LA flight takes 6 hours, a flight time totally inconsistent with the spinning ball model.
181) Flights Eastwards with the alleged spin of the ball-Earth from Tokyo to LA take an average of 10.5 hours, therefore the return flights Westwards against the alleged spin should take an average of 5.25 hours, but in actual fact take an average of 11.5 hours, another flight time totally inconsistent with the spinning ball model.
182) Flights Eastwards with the alleged spin of the ball-Earth from NY to London take an average of 7 hours, therefore the return flights Westwards against the alleged spin should take an average of 3.5 hours, but in actual fact take an average of 7.5 hours, a flight time totally inconsistent with the spinning ball model.
183) Flights Eastwards from Chicago to Boston with the alleged spin of the ball-Earth take an average of 2.25 hours, therefore the return flights Westwards against the alleged spin should take an average of just over an hour, but in actual fact take an average of 2.75 hours, once again, completely inconsistent with the spinning ball model.
184) Flights Eastwards from Paris to Rome with the alleged spin of the ball-Earth take an average of 2 hours, therefore the return flights Westwards against the alleged spin should take an average of 1 hour, but in actual fact have an average flight duration of 2 hours 10 minutes, a flight time totally inconsistent with the spinning ball model

that is not " 5 proofs " - its 5 rewordings of the same fallacy

the above fallacy can be falsified with a sprint from the front to the rear of a train moving at constant velocity followed by a sprint from the rear to the front

mr dubays " contribution " :

thats not logic

as for mr dubay " not being allowed " on ATS :

citation required

i would love to hear mr dubays " logic " on ATS - but have no reccollection of anyone claiming to be him showing up in any flat earth thread i have contributed too

my first question would be :

citation required [ in respect to ]:

99) Viewed from a ball-Earth, Polaris, situated directly over the North Pole, should not be visible anywhere in the Southern hemisphere. For Polaris to be seen from the Southern hemisphere of a globular Earth, the observer would have to be somehow looking “through the globe,” and miles of land and sea would have to be transparent. Polaris can be seen, however, up to over 20 degrees South latitude.

mr dubay is to put it bluntly - a liar - evidence above

From what I've seen many FEers do not subscribe to gravity. Since it is "only a theory". Rather they think that mass and buoyancy cause things to rise and fall, never taking into account what gives mass to an object.

Negative. Up and down are dictated by gravity, with down being towards the center of the mass. The cardinal points would be horizontal to your relative position. If south were "down" enjoying a couple of cold Fosters in Australia would be an expensive proposition.
