The better word for rhetorical control is manipulation.

Where convincing someone of something results in predictable results.

Let's say for example that someone launches a rhetorical campaign aimed at convincing others that any challenge to a chosen rhetorical theme is not free speech, but actually that speech is suppressing free speech!

Any Free Speech that follows your free speech, is not free speech, but oppression..

I know it sounds ridiculous. But people actually try to sell that nonsense..Some people even create OPs on ATS trying to sell that very idea.

I'm trying to understand your insult but it makes little sense. And here I thought words were supposed to be powerful.

Huh? What is your point?

You said Hitler used logic and evidence. I said Hitler painted. I thought we were sharing Hitler notes.

Answer: a thing said, written, or done to deal with or as a reaction to a question, statement, or situation.

There doesn't have to be a question.

Do you know the difference between a verb and noun?

No. Are you saying he dazzled them with logic and evidence?

We are talking about convincing people.

Yes, I also understand that it was a mistake, just like you responding in singular when the statement you were replying to was plural.

Of course, nobody actually trolled you because of it.

Is that your point? That Hitler dazzled everyone with logic and evidence?

Maybe you can tell me your point.

I wish they would. I prefer that others would tell me when I made a mistake.

Have you forgotten the poster's original point? If you can convince people that they are under your power, you are in power.

Either you are deliberately trying to ignore and deflect or you really do not understand the point completely.

No, I remember. Maybe as an experiment, you can convince me of something so that you can derive power, or control me, or whatever it is.

Again let me repeat my question. Are you or are you not easily swayed? Yes or no? Quite simple.

And I will answer again, yes, by logic and evidence.

So you will be swayed into believing that you are under my power and that you will do whatever I tell you?
