Good point.
Most people don't know realise how the EU is governed, it is ignorance/lack of knowledge.
The irony is that the Conservative party is the only one truly placed to carry out Brexit.

The Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) is a disaster. It has wrecked the countryside. One year farmers are given grants to grub up hedgerow and thousands of miles of ancient hedges are bulldozed and burned, the next they are given grants to replant. One year they are given grants for "set aside", the next these change and ancient wild flower meadows are ploughed up.

If there is one thing that the EU has mismanaged it is agriculture in the UK. The French farmers have loved it, of course, and have grown fat.

Don't get me started on fisheries.

The environmentalists seem worried that we are leaving the EU, as if the EU has done anything for the environment. I really do think these environmentalists need to travel to the countryside and get a breath of fresh air and see the impact of the CAP. Maybe they will conclude that post EU the UK has a fantastic opportunity to sort farming out so that it works for the UK, is sustainable and gets farming connected back to the land, rather than chasing the next grant cheque and Euro-fad.

Well stated

South West England coast here, fishing and agriculture is big business as well as tourism.
The tourists will still come after Brexit, and hopefully farmers and fishermen will have better prospects.

Aye well thanks you both it's time not wasted then . The fishermen will be more than happy with Brexit , it's not just our land that comes back under home control , but we live in rich waters .. The real English are Brexit minded , that we know .

Why is there that commonality of lack of knowledge when it comes to the EU .. its becoming clearer in my mind at least that the bbc and some other msms we know are actually EU controlled tools . If we think about it , the EU govt is much stronger and harder nosed than our little government . If they wanted media tools they can get media tools , and they would want such tools , and they would use them , and protect them .
They're not going to , and they certainly don't, advertise themselves as being what they really are (THE EPP ). Hence the lack of knowledge perhaps . When given the facts (EPP) , and CAP , its really quite simple . Add to that that the EPP dont need individual votes , just gopverning party memberships , to exist , and that'll be somewhere near why most people dont get it . They're not to blme , but the EU , yet again , the sneaky beggars

Zipmatt this is our choice.
Vote Tory, vote for the removal of all workers right's and to completely abolish all remnant's of the welfare state, to limit the legal right's of the poorest and increase homelessness to even greater level's, to impose yet more law's upon mass gathering's and further curtail civil liberty's.
Not to stop foreigners, indeed they have recently had talks in India with the begging bowl and as part of that they have agreed to make it easier for Skilled and Qualified Indian's to come to the UK, so our skilled kid's and qualified kid's won't get a nose in anyway with them, it is also a vote to reimpose the old master - servant class system in the UK oh and to sell off the NHS.

Vote Labor, get the Tory's immediately moving as much money as they possibly can out of the country in order to sabotage the economy even before labor start to try to fix it, an old trick they always do when Labor get in, new labor they were not so bothered about as they were really just Tory Light anyway but old labor they hate, Voting Labour is a vote to restore the legal right's service the Citizens' Advice Bureau, to reopen the public library's, to restore fair and equal education for our children, to move the tax burden back onto the rich whom can afford it and to help the poorest in society, to abolish ZERO HOURS contract's and restore workers right's in the work place in order to prevent exploitation, to restore free college and university education for the poorest allowing them to get back out of the mud pit and to restore meritocratic values to the UK, to build home's for people and end homelessness, to restore the NHS and free medical care for all.

You know in the UK the non EU migrant population, first, second, third and fourth generation voted mostly FOR Brexit because they for various reason's feared that the influx of White Christian European's to the UK was taking back what they had managed to wangle for themselves, think about that.

Labour is not going to take us back into the EU they are going to negotiate for a Soft Brexit retaining as many right's and access to the single market as possible.

On the other hand the Tory's are seeking a very Hard Brexit and the economic hardship it will cause to ten's of millions' is actually being seen by them as a tool since it won't effect them, a tool they will use to destroy the legacy of Labor once and for all.

So it is clear that Labor have the moral high ground and that they actually care about the people.

It is also clear that the Tory's do NOT have the moral high ground and that they only care about there own personal vested interests not the people of this nation.

I do not care about the things you falsely believe me to think about. I do not want "the dregs" of anything for my country. What I want is a country prepared to take responsibility for its errors and its deliberate and evil actions with regard to war and the selling of arms. Ergo, I want the government to take responsibility for decades of abuse of other nations and cultures, by allowing those affected worst by it, to come here and live in peace, peace we generally had a very big hand in stealing from them. I do not care what it costs, and I also know that if we were not getting boned by the corporatists and the billionaire set, we would be able to afford that easily as well.

I do not want you around because the work you do is important to the future. With respect, no individuals work is THAT necessary to the success of the whole. But your presence and the constant voice for change you want to see, that matters a great deal. I do not care what money you can make for the taxpayer, I do not care what quality of work you do, except in so far as it provides an education to the young that they can make use of. I DO care how many voices for positive change exist in this country at any one time, and that is all I care about, all anyone NEEDS to care about at this point in time. We are in a detestable position with an undesirable government full of closet fascists and economic vandals. This situation will not improve, if everyone who disagrees with the current state of affairs, would rather piss off out of it, than stand for what they want and win.

.

Then make Tony Blair, David Cameron ect pay for it. They are the ones with money and resources to spare not me, they are also the ones responsible, not me.

I wont get behind spending a single penny to help until those responsible lead.
For one they can put them up in there secound homes a mansions and they can pay health insurance out of there own pockets so as not to clogg up our NHS.

Typical libral logic...... and why I cant support socialists!

You should care what it costs! Someone has to pay. And why most socialist countrys end up going bankrupt and third world!

I refuse to feduce my standard of living while people who cause the mess live it up rich and in luxury.

Lol at UKIP announcing Muslim related policies today, they will only be attracting far right nut jobs soon.
I voted for the them at the last election solely to send my message for a referendum. Now we've had it, and after disinfecting my hands, there's not a chance they'd get my vote this time.

They did there job. Now time for them to leave.

Lib dems seem attractive to me right now except for there anti brexit stance.
I cant stand there undemocratic stance on the referendum.

I'm voting lib dem, fantastic candidate I've known personally and professionally, represented us before and only failed last election from the UKIP vote.
I'm happy to have an extra lib dem or two nipping at conservative ankles in the Brexit negotiations.
Balance n all.

Thats why I dont really want to vote against my conservative MP.

She is a great lady who really puts all her effort into the job, even on maternity leave she still saw constituants and held the secound best response time for MP letters and she anti war.

But the cuts to disability .......I just cant get over that. There are things you just dont cut ...not when we are wasting billions in foreign "aid" .

That's a tricky one for sure.
It's easier for me because lib dem are the only ones in my constituency who can beat the prick conservative candidate.
...maybe 4 people and a dog vote labour here lol

I can't believe you guys are considering voting Lib Dems.
I believe they are going to do really well this election and may even form a coalition with Labour and the SNP if the Conservatives don't get a majority. If that happened then they will keep us in the single market.

The Lib Dems website states their Brexit intentions...

"I'm voting to change the direction of our country on Thursday 8th June"

"Any deal negotiated for the United Kingdom outside the European Union must include membership of the Single Market and protect freedom of movement"
