This evacuation thing might be real. The 600,000 evacuated could be the "chosen ones". 2.4 million remain in Peonyogang.

Use mythology to verify the unverifiable. Makes enough sense.

Sorry, man. The moment someone says "CNN" with a straight face (or the online equivalent), my eyes just glaze over and my left arm starts to twitch a little.

It's a common reaction. You're allergic to anything with which you may even remotely disagree. Take two Trump Tweets and don't bother calling anyone about it in the morning.

FAKE NEWS...

No way they have 600,000 people in North Korea!

I sure hope the next crazy desperate dictator move isn't to pack a huge number of innocent people near their nuclear facilities or something.

I also wonder what will happen to the North Koreans if they are liberated? Will they want to be? After living under death and the death of their families I wonder how well they'd be able to assimilate under the rule of a fair government.

I agree with that interpretation. You don't tell the remaining millions they are left behinders doomed to die should a nuclear war breaks out...You say the selected ones to survive are "criminals" whose crimes were to spread South Korean videos...

ive asked myself that same question. the indoctrination they live under is so strong and we really know very little other then the very curated press tours, so for me its a total wild card. id hope theyve seen across the river though and seen what the modern world is living in versus what they live in and instantly turn on their govt.

A conflict over North Korea could break out "at any moment", China's foreign minister Wang Yi said Friday, warning there would be "no winner" in any war, as tensions soar with the US.

"If a war occurs, the result is a situation in which everybody loses and there can be no winner," he said during a joint press conference with his French counterpart Jean-Marc Ayrault.

Mr Wang said that whichever side provoked a conflict "must assume the historic responsibility and pay the corresponding price."

By "Evacuating" does he also mean "Mobilising"? Can this be read as, 'Kim Jong-un deploys 600,000 troops'...?

it is worth of thinking in that way, to try to see the things from his point of view. Sure Kim won't announce his plans in the media.

The shining sun that is Kim jun un would be the type of person that would evacuate civvies to missile silos that were in the firing line of pre emptive strikes if push came to shove,we all know ISIS often hides the operatives in hospitals and markets etc.

If this ISIS level cowardice if true, NK could be trying to replicate that sense of fear and we all know that the sheep fears the wolf-the wolf being that fat sack of poodoo who uses a hilarious haircut and brutal regime to keep its cattle in line.

Its sad to think no one in NK can stand on the soapbox because they have no soapbox
The North Koreans should not have to bow to this snivelling little prick and open up to the world, once you cut the head off the snake the body will die if you smell what I'm ccookin.

you know what, I lived the Cold War on the side of Warsaw Pact. The civil defense was a school-day exercise, mandatory. The West just believes its own stories how bad the East is/was. I bet the Americans are less prepared for nuclear war than the North Koreans, Chinese, Russians, and on the other side, Swedish, and Swiss who have reportedly bunkers for 100% of the population.

Do you know where you will go in the case of nuclear war? What strange that North Korea, preparing for that big war for decades, cares for its citizens to continue the life when all is over? Of but their leaders are animals...we heard recently.

You had me until you made the statement that North Korea cares about its citizens.

Yes I lived partly thru the Cold War (not that old still!) and I know the communist regimes do care for the people, when it comes to survival in WW3. At least because of egoistic purpose someone to survive. If no one survives no victory...

This is not fake news. It is a frightening and very sad development. It appears based on Mr. Trump's latest statement that he is about to attack North Korea. The consequences of this will be earthshaking. Unless the US military has some clever means to prevent it we can expect Tokyo, Seoul, and possibly even Guam and parts of Australia to be hit with nuclear missiles. If Russia and China comes out against this action it could lead to WW3 within a matter of days. I'd love to tell the Trump supporters "we told you so", but this is not a game. We're talking about millions of human beings possibly being annihilated in the blink of an eye.

actually Fatima and other prophecies predicted it. This year is the 100th anniversary. It wouldn't be surprised if a brief but very intense WW3 happens lasting only days but claiming more lives and destruction than the previous two world wars. Why Mr Trump and Mr Kim are chosen to start that, is beyond my knowledge. Yes sure Japan won't escape, as well as many others. Read the prophecy of Akita Japan of "fire will fall from heaven".

I don't believe in the message of Fatima nor the Akita prophecy. The Akita prophecy was given in a time when nuclear tensions between the USSR and the USA were very high. Additionally, the statements made in the Akita prophecy I believe are a blasphemy to God. It is closely tied to certain Roman Catholic dogmas which teach that God is wrathful, filled with anger, and that his anger can only be assuaged by the intervention of Jesus and Mary. In my belief that is complete blasphemy, a misrepresentation of God's character, and is an attempt to instill religious belief through fear. God is love and should be loved because we know he is love. If we believe he is wrath and very angry then we serve God from fear. You cannot love one whom you fear, you merely obey them. But all of that is off the topic. Since the beginning of 2017 the warning signs were there that war was about to break out. Many Trump supporters were angered by his dropping of the MOAB in Syria, and many more will be angry about his attack on North Korea. At that point his approval numbers will be well below 20%, but what happens then? Unless Americans travel in millions to Washington DC to get this madman out of office and replace him with a sane person I can't see anything changing. We seem to be on a dangerous trajectory that cannot be changed. We have only ourselves to blame.

South Korean news outlets are reporting that those 600k are criminals and undesirables who are being forced to leave the city because they do not have enough bomb shelters for everyone. So, only the good citizens are allowed to stay and use the bomb shelters, everyone else is being told to leave.
