You all are missing the fact that there is no evidence that this was Assad. He had no reason to be that stupid, knowing there would be ramifications. This is a false flag or a rebel attack.
It was Assad..
He is a sociopath...Chemical Weapons are cheap and he is tired of turning perfectly good buildings into rubble..Chemical weapons save billions in real-estate. It's like fumigating a house to him..He is a full on sociopath.

If we cease operations over this, then as bad as it is, good.
If we don't, we no longer have a guarantee of safe passage in Syrian airspace.
So, I'll clarify the bet. If we continue an air campaign in Syria following this event, I'll bet a US aircraft is shot down very soon.

You can repeat that "he's a sociopath" all you like, it doesn't make it true. I've researched the guy quite extensively and have seen nothing to indicate he is anything but a well-educated doctor, who from all that I've seen, seems quite reasonable and certainly not dumb or cruel enough to use chemical weapons against his people.
Please stop regurgitating the establishment narrative of the guy and try doing your own research.

That makes ZERO sense. Gassing civilians doesn't eradicate rebels.

Children in government custody have reportedly been beaten with metal cables, whips and wooden and metal batons, and suffered electric shock, mock executions, cigarette burns, sleep deprivation and solitary confinement, and sexual violence, including rape and threats of rape, the report says.
"Syrian security is now releasing detainees with unhealed wounds caused by torture in order to spread panic and fear among people hoping it will reduce the numbers participating in demonstrations," said Wissam Tarif, Director of Insan, a leading Syrian human rights organisation, which has documented cases of torture.
Hundreds of disappearances
Across Syria a campaign of mass arrests since the uprising began in mid-March has seen more than 7,000 Syrians arbitrarily detained and thrown into prisons, according to a count by activists, contacting detainees' family and friends.
The detained include a wide cross section of society, mainly young men aged between 20 and 50, but including children and elderly, especially activists and those involved in protests or seen filming them, but also community leaders, imams and students.

then, also look at the damage inflicted... 6 MIGs in a service hangar, the runway intact... the out buildings nd 2nd tier storage buildings were hit, the Traffic Control Tower was spared....(the damage reminded me of the Coalition Attacks & bombing of ISIS held sand dunes)

The Syrian airfield targeted by United States airstrikes early Friday was “almost completely destroyed,” a human rights group in the country said.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the missile attack damaged over a dozen hangars, a fuel depot and an air defense base.

"Initial indications are that this strike has severely damaged or destroyed Syrian aircraft and support infrastructure and equipment at Shayrat Airfield, reducing the Syrian government's ability to deliver chemical weapons," Captain Jeff Davis, a Pentagon spokesman, said, according to Reuters.

There are no good guys in the civil war in Syria. Both sides suck.
But perhaps this was an opportunity to illustrate to Iran and North Korea and the US won't just #### around any more. No more harsh language, no more BS double-speak from Washington.
Just *boom*
Not that I like or even want this. Hell, I'd be happy just to let the Middle East blow themselves up.
Just trying to look at this in a larger perspective than 59 Tomahawks on an airbase.

Seriously?
Please note that Trump did not watch TV, pick up the phone, and order a bombing.
People keep implying that.
This was based on intelligence and days of meetings and discussions over all of the options.
Joint Chiefs of Staff, military, intelligence and others were all involved in evaluating the situation and coming up with a plan.
And then they took decisive action based on the evidence.
They know more than we know.
