The Hadith has a rough parallel to the gospels of Christ in the new testament. They describe the ministry of Christ, just as the Hadith decribes what Mohammed did.

Can you honestly not see what discrediting a Hadith does to the credibility of everything?

If the one that you claim is unreliable, then why was the whole thing not abandoned? In Chrstianity, the widely accepted bible (not the ones with apocrypha books in it) is accepted as undisputed and correct. The only squabbles to be had over these writings is the deeper meaning of them, not whether the writings are reliable or not.

There are extra gospels etc out there in Christianity, some portray Jesus and Mary Magdelan in a very different light. But they are not accepted as part of core Christianity and therefore considered heretical.

You cannot pick and choose writings and call some unreliable just because it causes problems for the faith. They are either in or they are out. And that Hadith is in.

How does anyone in modern society support Islam, when it allows for children to be raped and married? The hadith are narrations of the prophets life that were compiled after his death. Hadith's are open to debate and discussion. Some can even be discredited.

A discredited hadith has no bearing on the credibility of other things.

In short it's not synonymous with the Koran as you think.

I already explained that the hadith about Aisha was unreliable. I also explained how Aisha was at least 18 when she was married.

But again you have it all wrong. You cannot compare the marriage of a sworn Temple Virgin who was to remain a virgin and did not consumate the marriage (all in the text from the traditional story you quote) to that of Mohammed and Aisha.

The issue here is that Mary was only 12 when she was engaged to a 90 year old Joseph. This is not a Muslim claim. This is what early Christians believed about the ages of Mary and Joseph. The early church fathers also believed the same thing.

Sworn temple virgins is a pagan concept not jewish.

Mary was engaged to Joseph, she was supposed to marry him and have children like any other israelite. this refutes the claim that Mary was a "sworn temple virgin".

Mary had other children after Jesus was born. That she remained a virgin is a Catholic claim.

Mohammed did have sex with her and she was 9. That is what the Hadith states.

That hadith is not reliable. Other Hadiths show that Aisha was as old as 20 when she was married to the prophet.
