Hi ATS-ers,

I was browsing YouTube today and a video from The Outer Dark came up in my feed titled "5 Things We Know About Tengri 137 #Tengri137 #FirstContact #Cicada3301" and naturally, I fell down the rabbit hole.

I also did a quick search on ATS to see was there anything about this and I couldn't find anything.

Tengri 137 is described as a puzzle. I found this puzzle noteworthy due to the amount of coincidences - for lack of a better word - it has in relation to Biblical text. Now I am not religious in the slightest but I find the references interesting. It is an APPARENT message from a higher being OR is a very well thought out hoax and made it's first appearance on Imgur on 23rd August 2016 with the title 3301 (Cicada 3301 reference?). YouTuber Defango notes that things like Cicada and Tengri pop up online all the time and like I said, could be just another hoax but I'll leave you guys to have a look at the videos and Reddit threads to decide for yourselves.

The videos are fairly in-depth and I simply do not have the head for mathematics (thank you dyscalculia). It sounds very impressive and if it is a hoax it's very well thought out, seriously time consuming to create and has reached a new level of trolling. Otherwise, if it is genuine then my mind is blown.(Or it could be AI - in which case we're doomed)

You can check out apparent translations on this www.reddit.com...

I've tried my best to place the videos in a sequence of introductory to analytical.

Check out the videos from Defango:

I'd like to hear members opinions as I am finding it a little bit difficult to follow so I'll re watch and see if it makes more sense in my head. I hope ye get a little enjoyment out of it anyway.

I read on ATS that cicada puzzle was most likely a recruitment puzzle. Some ABC agency's way of finding talent.

Well, it's before my first coffee but, unless I missed something, it's a pretty involved trolling ... maybe some mathematician got inspired and instead of publishing, decided to use their powers for trolling, or perhaps another NSA talent search ? Or it's an escaped AI playing... or it's really an "alien" intelligence revealing itself almost as Gibson envisioned, or, of course, demons.

Certainly ATS worthy and sorta fun, even IF it's a gag.

All I know fer sure is that I can feel my brain changing after reading that string of numbers ... I'm getting a sense of ... ahk... chada nurotransig metadada ... urgh... crap! I am NOT the one... I am... n-number ... TWO (oh-nos).

Yaway or the highway, baybay.

There are no escaped true AI's.

That's not to say that an AI was not involved in this.

Read into that whatever you wish.

Interesting puzzle, n'est pas?

Interesting is right... the more I scan these, the more I grok how involved it is... again, I am not qualified to judge veracity here, but it's a cool trick, if trick it be.

Oh and I'll take your word on no escaped AI ... that we know of (bwa-ha-ha), but maybe a Boltzmann Brain AI sprang up outta nothing on the net?

Dunno ... it wouldn't take much to fool me but this seems quite the intricate jest if jest it be. I'll go with originating with a higher power as the originator certainly has a higher IQ than I do, and is thus a higher power.

I'll wait until the adult mathematicians show up to pronounce their verdicts.

those things are very common in the internet and are done either by bored hackers or by fbi, cia, nsa etc

I'd love to have the time (and the brains) to commit to making something like this for the giggle. It's certainly impressive.

also "hard" A.I (A.I with human or even better inteligence) has been proven to be a hoax many times, in truth the only thing that can make a inteligence has good as humans is god himself and he is probaly evil

Hmmm ... browsing some comments (usually best place to get a whiff of b.s.) some say that besides spelling errors in the "messages" (I saw that, too, but thought.. .meh, maybe in the solutions) there are some errors in the equations.. .SO maybe an ARG (alternate reality game) .. .cool nonetheless... and maybe legit, but I don't have time to get into the nitty gritty.

Seen this on Ed's channel the other day, and it now seems to be blowing up all over the conspiracy-sphere. Extremely interesting... wish I was smart enough to add more to the puzzle/work to solve.

I will be keeping an eye on twitter and ready to jump on Tor if anything shows.

With the new attention it is getting I hope some more bright minds may join in and bring their ideas to the conversation.

After doing some reading i find it strange that no good debunking has been done,
considering how provocative some of the statements are: YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT GOD DOES NOT EXIST
EVERYTHING THAT EXISTS IS BASED ON A MATHEMATICAL TRUTH
NOTHING MORE AND NOTHING LESS
DO NOT BELIEVE IN ANY GOD.

I'm not sure what debunking could be done at this point? So far only puzzles/maths have been provided/found. The math comes out correctly, the puzzles lead to more puzzles.

I think the big question now is related to their Tor address. From my understanding to generate the .onion address they list would take tons of computing power/1,000 years of time... if this site does go up with some type of information, then I think we'll have a lot of questions.. mainly is this a quantum computer or truly a higher level intelligence. But I honestly don't have a clear understanding of how the .onion addresses are generated so I may be off on this.

Apparently they have a custom PGP ID and a custom .onion address that should not be possible to generate. Something with this thing feels different.
