Call it a miracle, karma or just plain old lady luck smiling on the Cole family.

This is a story that should be headlines across the U. S.

Well done soldier, well done.

What if it had just been her son or anyone else who might have had innocent intentions

What Elmore saw through the high-powered scope on his riffle was – his neighbors, Fredrick and Lydia Cole tied to chairs in their upstairs family-room. The couple’s 2-children Douglas (11-years-old) and Daniel (6-years-old) were sitting near their mother – also tied to kitchen-style chairs.

What if you had actually read the article?

According to Elmore, the mother and children had what looked to be duct-tape around their mouths and 3 masked-intruders appeared to be focusing primarily on Fredrick Cole. The 3 masked-intruders were holding handguns and were acting in a very violent manner – often destroying the Cole’s property or striking Fredrick Cole in the face with their pistols.

Yeah that sounds innocent lol.

According to Elmore and members of the Cole family – the home intruder instantly fell to the floor dropping his weapon in the process. The remaining 2-home intruders were visibly stunned and confused by the incident and gave Elmore enough time to fire 2 additional rounds striking both remaining intruders before they had an opportunity to retaliate.

Police arrived shortly after Elmore’s intervention and discovered 2 of the 3 home-intruders dead upon their arrival. The surviving intruder – since identified as Charles L. Brooke was treated for his injuries at a nearby hospital and has since been arrested and booked into a county jail.

When seconds matter the cops are only minutes away. This guy is a hero.

Perfect example of real gun control.
I.E. hitting your target.

P.s. Something tells me this guy is going to get a lot of free beer and cookout invites. Well deserved of course.

Snopes says fake.

The photograph appeared to be a stock image. The header image was also an old stock photograph of a man with a gun, and no images of any of the involved parties were included (probably because they never existed).

While the Seattle Tribune initially looks like the digital counterpart to a major city newspaper, it is just one of several fake news sites (including the Boston Tribune and the Baltimore Gazette) working the same local news angle to rack up shares and ad revenue.

I believe there's already a thread on this

Sounds clear and decent use of lethal force for protecting life and I doubt pretty much any jury in the world would say the use to been bad, ok having the rifle might be naughty in several countries without paperwork, but he's a trained sniper so if anyone should be able to take the shots then its someone like him safely without putting the residents at risk.

He did the right things in calling in the cops and watching and waiting and he didn't pull the trigger until it was absolutely required so showing restraint and calmness and I doubt the local cops will be pulling charges.

No such thing as innocent intentions if you point a weapon at someone.

Good. There are plenty of real life stories of heroism from gun owners and veterans. The other side of that is someone had the worst day of their lives. Glad to hear this one wasn't true.

One in a million. Not the shot, that was easy. I mean the odds of looking thru your scoped rifle out your window at the neighbors house and just happening to see a whole family tied up about to be murdered. What are the odds?

Something isn't right with that story. Is he a hero, sure, does he point his sniper rifle out the window at his neighbors house rarely, or all the time?

You be the judge.

Edit: Oh, I read the thread, seems it was fake and my assessment how phony it sounded was right...
