This is highly concerning to me. You have a high level official in a majority Islamic nation predicting a religious war in Europe. Turkey is also a member of NATO and until recently has been mostly secular. Erdogan has continued to consolidate power and is striving to be a dictator. I'm really not sure what additional red flags are necessary for European leaders to stop the unbridled flow of immigration. This is scary stuff.

I'm pretty sure, at least in practical terms, Erdogan has been a dictator for some time now. As far as stopping the wave of migration, yeah they should. They should also prioritize actual refugees and punish those filing many welfare claims under various identities. The problem is that the damage has already been done. On top of that there are something like 5.5mn Turkish citizens residing in Europe. Many are in Germany and since at least the end of WWII there have been many of Turkish descent there.(A mosque in Munich is a great read on this topic BTW)

It seems as if the minister isn't so much predicting a religious war but is rather attempting to incite one. NATO needs to take a very hard line on Turkey. Another problem arises however, they are the only US/NATO ally in the ME. Some will say Israel is our best friend in the region but IMO that is pure BS. Israel cares only about Israel and no one else. Not even their large benefactors. I think the worry with Turkey is that they will look east to Russia(or perhaps China as well) as Egypt did after the "military coup".
