With the CIA's ability to 'breach almost anything connected to the internet' made public, many citizens have begun questioning their devices. A clip has surfaced showing an anonymous woman asking Amazon's Alexa a series of questions - starting with 'would you lie to me' and finishing with 'Alexa, are you connected to the CIA?' The virtual assistant swiftly responded to the first question, but shutdown after it was interrogated about its connections with the US government agency.

However, any time I ask


" Is the CIA listening to this" she shuts down


If I ask:


"Is McDonald's listening to this" she says the usual " I could not understand the question you asked"

My own little experiment. She absolutely shuts down with the mention of CIA. But not FBI or something random like Mcdonalds

Which sane person would put such a spying device voluntarily into his home?

Maybe she interprets "are you connected to CIA" as "are you connected to see Eye Hay" and can't execute the command and thus fails?

Wow, that's amazing.

And yes, I was one of those duct tape camera cover uppers.

I wouldn't have one of these things in my home if I won it for free. All I had to know is that it's always listening and I was freaked out enough to think of it as the devil. lol and I don't believe in the devil.

I can understand the cool features it has and the ability to turn things on with your voice, but I'd much rather have to press a button or say a code phrase before it hears me, at the very least make it motion activated, but even then I wouldn't have one, because I already worry about my phone and mics on my PC " listening ".

The curse of knowledge is very real, when you understand how these things work, you lose a little bit of sanity because you realize how messed up humanity really is.

but notice in the op, the device answers the query about what the c i a IS.
but wont answer it the device is connected

I can answer this... If she doesn't understand, shell respond like she did to McDonalds or fbi. She never shuts down like that to any other questioon
