Boots on ground in Syria.

You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.

Matthew 24:6

Some Muslims think the end times sequence starts in Syria. They may or may not be right, but it sure seems like WWIII could start in Syria. With our new CIC, it's very possible that things could escalate militarily quickly around the world. This sure seems like it could very well be a catalyst. May God bless those in danger, and may we as a human race reject evil, deny ignorance. I hope this is wrong, but it's been up for a while, and it seems to be legit according to some ex mil I know. Waiting on confirmation from other sources, perhaps others could find some?

I can't tell you if this the beginning of the end or the end of the beginning. I applaud your expression of compassion and how it reminds us of what we should keep in our thoughts.

I'm praying for our boys over there especially - I disagree with war, but the guys on the ground are taking such risk for their country.... May God have mercy upon our souls.

Rangers tend to be assault troops. They don't check IDs they don't set up check points, they don't do regular troops crap.

They blow stuff up and kill people. That's it.

Hopefully those boys are taking it to the daesh scum bags.

well, that`s good because if we are gonna send americans over there we don`t need American cops over there, that`s just asking for trouble, we need killers over there.kill em, kill em all and get out.

Exodus 20:13 King James Version (KJV)

13 Thou shalt not kill.

I believe God is totally correct, killing them is wrong, regardless of their sins. I hate evil, but they know not what they do. Forgiveness is the only way out, you kill one of them, you make 100 more. That's a great way to lose a war. This war we are fighting is primarily spiritual. Wish we'd man up and admit that....

yeah well, the opposite of love is not hate and the opposite of hate is not love, the opposite of both hate and love is indifference,so the rest of the world could be indifferent to whatever the hell it is that they are trying to accomplish over there and they would still hate the rest of the world and try to kill us all.
they don`t even believe in the god that said thou shalt not kill so what are we to do, just love them and sit and wait for them to kill us? because that`s exactly what they will do they have no problem killing people who love them hate them or are indifferent to them, they kill everyone who is different then they are.

Meh. That doesn't translate well into English from Hebrew. Or they did a poor job of it, trying for brevity.

"Lo tirsah" is more like 'you shall not commit first degree murder'. It does NOT forbid self defense, or killing in combat, or killing by law enforcement or the like.

The source, who requested anonymity, revealed to BasNews "The US military is expanding the runway of Kobani Airport, in order to receive the giant aircraft," confirming the presence of hundreds of technicians and experts and American military personnel at the airport. The source explained that "the airport runway in the past was 1,100 meters long with the width of 60 meters, and it is expected to be expanded to 1,700 meters long and 110 meters wide," adding that a four-meter-tall wall will also be erected around the airport.

It sounds like they plan on bringing in more friends and sticking around for a while.

Aren't we all working together over there now? I remember seeing something with Trump, Saudi Arabia and/or Isreal (countries in the area) working together to stabilize the area. I don't think the President ever said no boots on the ground.

The Authorization to Use Military Force against ISIS has been interpreted by the Executive branch to include ISIS. Last I checked Congress has not seriously challenged that interpretation.

It's been in place since 2001.

I'd be slighty more concerned with the situation thats developing with the DPRK over the last 6 to 12 months which has esculated as of late. The 'incidents' with North Korea are forever present in the propaganda machine and have been getting a bit of a 'push' lately.

The powers thatrule over our pathetic little societies are desperate to divert some attention away from the upper workings of corrupt governments that have been gaining a lot of exposure as of late. Thankyou Information Age.

If and when the situation with The North esculates into an international 'incident', it'll make the Syrian Army, or indeed the combined military forces of the entire Middle East, look like a Boy Scout Brigade from the 1920's.

And trust me, ain't no 'magic man' who lives in space gonna tell Kim Jong muthaf##ken Un not to destroy the entire city of Seoul within the first 15 minutes of action.

As for ISIS. They're the only real 'enemy' in the Middle East. It should be Saudi, Iran, Jordan, Syria and all of their allies in the region who pick up the gaunlet and rid themselves of that evil. They'd be far more efficient at it than any non-regional force could ever be. And it's not like they can't afford it.

This is news I can only take as being bad.

It is not enough to bomb the place, but now, putting assault troops on the ground, a situation which can ONLY lead to massive civilian casualties...

I have said this before, and I will say it no doubt a thousand more times. If IS need dealing with, then they need to have their resource supply cut off from western sources (it is not), they need their resource supply from Saudi Arabia cut off (it has not been) they need to have their resource supply from Qatar cut off (they have not been), FIRST, to starve on the vine for a time, then be taken out by intelligence operatives, essentially assassins. Rangers are not such men. They may be adept at blending into terrain, but they are a military presence, with military vehicles, noisy methods which will not go unnoticed. They are not a force which can strike from the shadows and only impact those whose deaths are necessary. You need intelligence operatives specialising in assassination for that.

Anything but what I describe above, is just another way for one nation to swing its phallus in the face of the world, nothing more than a flex of a steroid pumped bicep. This stupidity will not end anything. It will merely create more problems than it solves. Again.

Well, they also kick ass in tying knots. And it was always said they could break ball bearings in a sandbox with a rubber hammer.

It's sort of interesting that they're leading with Ranger battalion. Means they are past trying or don't want to take the time to subvert/coerce the Syrian government into dealing with it locally. Or the problem's too diffuse to solve by just poking a hole in a few select people.

SF/Delta/DEVGRU and others don't number enough to really deal a blow.

You need a larger SOF unit with expanded total war capabilities to deal with the sheer size of Daesh. That's the Rangers.

While SF teams can do a hell of a lot of damage they are more scalpel while Rangers are a hammer.

When you care enough to send the very best, I suppose.

Sometimes the answer IS a hammer. Or, as someone once told me, you did this # for a few weeks, we live it every day.

Screw that, I like to sleep occasionally.
