Intruder seen on baby monitor camera in Billings home (or was it a ghost?)

I think you have the most likely theory here. For whatever it's worth, though, it wasn't the middle of the night, it was 9:30 pm. I don't know what time they have the monitor set to send text pictures when motion is detected, but maybe she didnt realize it set so early into the evening. So maybe the picture caught her and her (very very hypothetical) lover by surprise when he checked on the baby. Then she came up with this cover story thinking that the text and photo was send to her husbands phone too.

Yes.... my husband is the family protector in the house, so I get the urge to run to the hubs when danger shows up. But if my husband were out of town and this happened to me with an intruder (or ghost) I would take action myself. I'd run in and grab my baby and any call made would be to 911... not to my out-of-town husband. What could he do?? If I needed a burly man to come to the rescue, I'd call 911 or maybe a neighbor. But priority one would be getting my baby away from the strange man and into my arms!

If the story presented is accurate - and let's admit that is a big 'if' because stories get misreported all the time - than her response is very very strange.

Picture still creeps me out, though. A lot.

That would be a great idea... The cops need to check browsing histories and cell phones, I bet that would get us a whole lot closer to where we're wanting to be.

In the enhanced version I could see that being a man or a woman ... hard to tell.

Maybe I missed it, but did the mother say she saw this person with her own eyes? When she ran in to grab her child did she see the person in there?

Supposedly she sent him the pic and then called him immediately and that's when he told her to make loud noises, grab the baby, and get out... In a way it makes sense because if you're being loud you won't be quite as startled. This effing story can go anywhere. We're all pissing in the wind and need more info, lol.

Even crazier is that the entire neighborhood is new and some plats still don't even have houses on them yet. This is WAYYYY out there but there could also be tunnels beneath that go into a certain place in each house. Guy on the construction team pops in, grabs some loot, and disappears with no evidence he was ever there.

The woman said her baby monitor is synced with her cellphone and motion-activated. She said she took a photo of the image on her phone.


Sorry I couldn't get quotes to work on my phone. Anyway this make it sound like it isn't a text message sent from monitor but rather she took a screen shot herself. This is much more in line with how baby monitors, as I know them, work. She would get alerted to motion, then can look at the monitor. I've never heard of a baby monitor that captures pictures and texts them to you... it seems pointless. You'd look at the live feed on the monitor through an app on your phone. Why have a still image??

If this reporting is accurate, it also makes the secret lover theory far less likely. Why would she screen shot lasting evidence of a secret lover?

It only says she frantically called him, not that they actually spoke. According to the updated story on the first page what the husband conveyed was via text.

She then frantically called her husband to inform him of the situation.

"'Look at the text message. There is someone in the house. what do I do?'" her husband said it stated.

"I told her to make a lot of noise. Announce your efforts of what you're doing. Grab our daughter and get out of the house," the husband texted his wife.

So I am wondering if she is lying about trying to call him, or hell, maybe he was out of town cheating on her too and couldn't answer....wouldn't THAT be a twist....LOL! Imagine the scenario here, both are cheating and trying to hide it and this creates the perfect instance for each one to just agree to the others story and not want to dig because they know if they do dig then the other one will as well...now that could be on Maury Povich!

Yeah I have been searching for stories as well but haven't found any like the updated one from the OP on the first page where the reporters apparently called and spoke with the lady and the police. The video from the updated story by the OP has a reporter talking about it.

There are a lot of monitors out there these days and most of them do have a motion sensing piece that will snap a photo and send it via text or email. There are a ton of them that are just apps to download and us a webcam with that do the same thing.

Except nothing was reported missing, correct? But maybe this time he just got caught. I wonder if there's a way to search and see how many robbery calls have been made in the last year to this specific neighborhood, then cross reference that info with a list of the houses in said neighborhood and by whom each house was built. That would either prove or refute this theory, unless several construction companies are in cahoots together, and I can't imagine that would be likely anyway.

I made it to page 4 and had to respond. Your red image directed my attention into the shadows beneath his chin and to the right of the pic. Pareodelia possibly, but does anyone else see the big headed alien? Also, where are the first 7 pics? It says 8 of 8. Is it possible that an alien abduction was thwarted? I'd like to jump into the fray here. I read the thread, some good ideas, plenty of typical ATS jumping to paranormal conclusions. Here's my take. I can't say for sure of any relationship between the person in the photo and the family whose home it is in. But due to physical positioning of the person in the picture it looks as though it had been coming from the ground, as if it were hiding under the crib. Perhaps once the person came from under the crib it was alerted by the motion sensor activating, making some kind of noise or seeing a flash, thus looking at the camera. So what I'm seeing is someone who was hiding under the crib caught in mid motion of coming to their feet by the motion sensor.

If the dog's collar remote is missing, and if this person had/has possession of it that would indicate they had some time in the house at some point to think to take advantage of that equipment. You'd think even though the quality is bad that the woman or the husband could identify the suspect if they had seen them before. It could be someone who constructed the house or had some type of business there in the past, but again you'd think the husband and wife would be able to identify the person in the picture.

The theory of a lover is smart, but why would the photo be taken in the way that is was? Could be a former lover I guess. The big mystery is how did the person in the photo get out undetected? I'd say that it's probably that in fact all the doors and windows weren't locked like the woman thought, that seems to make the most sense to me. I definitely don't think it's a ghost, there is likely a more Earthly explanation for this photo.

When I first read the thread I figured that it could be a situation of someone living in a crawl space, attic, or basement that was unknown to the family. But we don't know if things have been missing in the house in the past, so there is really no evidence of that.

I'm also willing to bet that there are details left out of the reports that would make this make a lot more sense to us.

The more I look the more I see an older woman with white hair wearing glasses and a flowery or patterned T-shirt. Whether real or ghost, she shouldn't be there and looks out of place and unnaturally odd. I am posting my light adjusted image and one of my own taken by a friend of her son and an unexplained male behind him to illustrate how I feel they are both unnatural...
