Thank you. It is more complicated though. I know these people on a very distant level. They are kind hard working people who have been struck by one misfortune after the other.
It doesn't justify the neglect but I just wonder, are some of us destined for failure? I too hope the animals find refuge.

This summer I went there to buy flowers. The daughter, an amazing young woman, had a raccoon pet. She respected and understood this being and knew it would one day return to the wild.
How do we judge? And where do we aide?

Misfortune or not, I would never abuse my pets. If I was forced to give them up, I would find a good home for them. There is no kindness in starving an animal or having that halter so tight on a pregnant cow. It makes no sense to me. Sorry. I am usually filled with compassion for people, but if those animals could speak, they would not speak kindly of their abusers.

Why would anyone put a halter on a cow anyway?
I could see a nice loose blouse.
Or perhaps an attractive tank top.
Some people have no idea how to dress a cow.

I'm laughing because Wis said halter and I was going to write harness, then I realized I don't know a damned thing about cows.

OMG!!!!!! What a gorgeous little boy!!!!! I want to hug him and kiss him and give him ice cream and cookies and spoil him rotten! Then I'll send him home with toys that make a lot of noise and the little hobbit all hyped up on sugar. LOL

Hmmmmmmmm, you sound strangely like his Grandmother. I don't mind the noisy toys however, in fact, I encourage em!!

Can't wait to get him his first drum kit.

Absolutely! I've owned a few over the years and have no problems with them. The neighbors on the other hand........

LOL! Tell the neighbors to deal with it! I think it's wonderful for children to get involved with music. Oh and books! How I loved my books as a child and ever since then!

He brings me a book every morning and in the afternoon before heading into work. Not to read mind you, just to flip the pages.
