LOVE Portishead! Another I considered posting for this topic was Wandering Star.

They are amazing aren't they

"Roads" however is THE song that keeps getting me and i always keep coming back to. More specifically that live version that i posted. Im usually not that into live recordings but the way she sings that right there, that voice with that feeling, wow.

I waited till the next page bc my silly compy does not like to load huge amounts of data.

That Kendrick Lamar video was insanely emotional..I don't remember the last time a rapper expressed that much emotion.

ahh I guess it could help if we did one song per post so the entire page would have minimum amount of youtube link loads..

I just found that Kendrick track. It's like damn man.. He's a good actor. Must be smart as hell.

Y'ALL don't have to do that..Youll just see me closer to the tops of pages, I suppose. too much data and my compy breaks down, much like my mind.

Yea I actually prefer his clean vocals
the guttural screaming can be amazing, and sometimes not so much. also the flailing is a bit much.

Paper route? oR Dr Aden? Or Where Are you? or? .... lol

I could play B.o.B all day long without running out of killer tracks. He released like 7 free albums/mixtapes? in the last like 1.5 years?

Psycadelik Thoughtz
NASA
Live and Direct
Fire
Water
Earth
Air

Who knows I may have missed some

I don't know if you could call him a rapper.. He's kind of everything.

It's actually the one I was trying to find.. listened to Wandering Star before posting it here and it didn't quite do it, but Roads sure does. Thanks for that version, I agree it is phenomenal.

Maybe one day the thread will slow down? haha.. I actually listened to all except maybe 2 pages worth. It's becoming increasingly difficult to remember if I skipped any to go back to

The live ones are awesome.

Ok even though B.o.B is my favorite I am playing songs that affect me hard.

I went through a phase where I would play this song over and over and over..
I was having a rough time knowing how to be anything besides a ghost in society.

And then B.o.B came through the computer and said Bro, I feel you.

Thanks B.o.B

Just one this time

Oh dear God, just read this comment on Youtube regarding this song.

In the famous erotic song "Dance me to the end of love", Leonard Cohen sings about the tragic experience of a specific historical person, the "Violinist of Auschwitz", Greek-Jew Jack Stroumsa! In this song, Stroumsa's wife (victim of the Nazis) speaks to him, through Cohen's voice, asking her husband to play her some music when she is being dragged through panic toward the gas chambers. You see, the duty of Stroumsa in this camp was exactly this one: to play marches and classical music for the funeral procession of the naked victims who were told by the SS officers that they are going away just to get a bath. Stroumsa was forced to play marches and classical music as his personal unwanted farewell for unsuspected victims, friends, neighbours, coreligionists and his very own family, all dragged in the same path of death with music in their ears... - Christos Tsanakas.

Crushing.

Being an artist and musician, music is very personal and dear to me. Making a list of songs that effect me deeply would be too hard too compile. Lyrics effect me, melodies effect me, chords and keys effect me...

I can listen to almost any genre all the way from classical Beethoven all the way to pop Justin Bieber. As long as it's "music" and not just "noise" I can appreciate the art.

But if I had to pick one song from the top of my head right now that sticks out that encompasses everything.

The chords, melodies, lyrics and video are something.. but the atmosphere and vibe it creates is what makes it special.

Probably one of the greatest songs of all time.

Is there another video of your song on Youtube? I've found certain vids don't work.. others do. Mysterious ways and such.

Thanks! The struggle was so real..

I didn't realize you are so diverse with your taste when it comes to art. Wish I was around for some of your older threads, would've been fun
