The actual issue is they put the word Congress instead of the House which is where the Chairman of the United States House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, Jason Chaffetz, works. They actually DO have a right and at this point an obligation to persue further investigation.
oversight.house.gov...

Yeah thats not in dispute. What I had issues with is the President does not need to authorize congress to do their job and Congress does not need presidential approval to investigate. Secondly congress cant bring charges, they can only make referrals to the FBI / DOJ.

Using the term Congress instead of House doesnt change my statement.

Hillary Clinton is not going to go to a real jail even if she is convicted of something. She is a former first lady. It's just not gonna happen. The most that's going to happen is some kind of house arrest. But I don't think anything will happen, TBH.

But she's already been investigated and cleared what, 5 times? 6 times?

Being investigated would not create double jeopardy. She was never charged, meaning she can be charged going forward.

I think the claim is she used her considerable political capital to leverage a shut down of the FBI investigation. While I suspect it could be reopened, it would look stupid to do so. A congressional hearing, however, is another matter entirely.

Unfortunately you are almost certainly correct. Hopefully at the vert a very serious damper can be put on the rest of her miserable life though.

They will be unfit to plead because of this or that illness take your pick. But that will be after they are charged.

Uhh, you do know who lead all those failed witch hunts, right?
It was Jason Chaffetz.
The head of the FBI is still James Comey.
He's the guy that said Hillary had committed no criminal wrongdoing.
Chaffetz is trying to distract you. There's an unethical fascist in the office of President that needs to be investigated. Chaffetz is just showboating and putting his party before his country.
Jason Chaffetz and, anyone who supports him, are disgusting human beings.

Is it telling that Barack Obama didn't offer Hillary a pardon before he left office? he did for so many other people!

This evil bitch should be tarred, feathered and hanged for her treason against the U.S., as democrats applaud her great contribution to "the country". Sickening.

the reason comey didn't recommend charging her was because he was ordered not to he also knew if he did while barry was in office he would just pardon her outright,

Show of hands...

How many of you right-wingers would like to see George W. Bush charged with war crimes?

I mean, by international standards these would be easily provable.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that most of you wouldn't want Bush charged with crimes that
are easily provable, so stop agitating for Hilary Clinton to be charged with these fictitious "crimes" that
over 25 years of GOP witch hunts couldn't prove.

The right's obsession with HRC is bordering on pathological.

All the names you mentioned deserve a jail cell. A crook is a crook and I feel lucky to not consider myself part of any political party.

It's a catch 22 for her, especially if she still has political ambitions.

A pardon would mean she is admitting she violated the law.

No pardon and she runs the risk of a later prosecution.

While what you say is fact how does that relate to the referenced article in the OP? The only time Congress was mentioned was erroneously instead of what they should have said instead. So I'm confused where it says that the things you mentioned occured. Unless you are getting that from some other source, which would be a good idea to site it so everyone can read it.

I'm only seeing the word Congress in the OP reference article used erroneously. So I am confused where it mentions the things you say occured. If you are getting this info somewhere else it would be a good idea to give us a link to look over. Or I somehow missed something. Feel free to point it out. Thanks

Jason Chaffetz spoke to Fox News on or close to January 26th about the Clinton investigation. The video clip is just over four minutes long. It was posted at the Oversight and Reform Channel which is a government channel. It's an unlisted video so I'm not going to post the video here because it has that warning about sharing and I don't want to offend anyone.

I'm going to post a link to Mr. Chaffetz's tweet which includes the video. It's better to hear it from the horse's mouth as they say. He did receive quite a bit of "feedback" on it.

That is the video where Chaffetz says they need the administrations help in getting the documents released for there has been nothing but stonewalling and the proverbial feet dragging of certain agencies to provide the requested documents..
