Leaked Executive Order Reveals Trump Crackdown On Immigrant Welfare

Seemingly following the proposals of Bill Clinton and Ron Paul, The Washington Post reports that a leaked document shows the Trump administration is planning to crackdown on current, and would-be, immigrants who are likely to require public assistance.

After Bill Clinton received a standing ovation for suggesting crackdown on immigrant welfare...

And following Ron Paul's advice this week that the solution to really addressing the problem of illegal immigration, drug smuggling, and the threat of cross-border terrorism is clear:


The various taxpayer-funded programs that benefit illegal immigrants in the United States, such as direct financial transfers, medical benefits, food assistance, and education, cost an estimated $100 billion dollars per year.

I hope he tells the states to crack down on people who use handicapped parking, when they obviously don't need it. One of my pet peeves.

I know its not yours but I think the title is intentionally misleading. The crackdown on benefits is for illegal immigrants and not lawful ones.

Needs to be done, sure. It's a problem and is easily viewable by anyone of the working class. My issue would be that it is very small potatoes compared to corporate welfare.

It actually could be for legal immigrants easily enough. The law does have a means test component to it. Each immigrant into this country is supposed to prove they will pose "no burden to the United States" prior to entry and as a condition of remaining here.

Yeah, I just copied the exact title from the site. I usually do not modify them unless they are long and have to be chopped down due to character limits.

More heads predicted to soon explode.

It's existing law needing no legislative action whatsoever.

Just needs enforcement, hence an EO to get beauracracy off its butt and carry out their duty as codified by Congress.

That's beauty of what Trump is doing, uphold well established existing law instead of grandstanding with new but unecessary law.

A greater part of his agenda and policy can be accomplished this way and there is not much opponents can do to stymie that which is already longstanding law.

If you go into the source and read what is written, they are specifically addressing people who are legally immigrating to the US.

Bear in (m)ind this is WaPo unsubstantiated reports and The White House would not confirm or deny the authenticity of the orders, and White House officials did not respond to requests for comment about the drafts on Monday and Tuesday.

I agree, is about the illegals that are getting federal money pay by hard working tax payers, not the legal ones that get that benefit even when I feel they need to be scrutinized too, is a lot of waste and abuse in our nation.

Many Sanctuary cities are taking federal grants to be use for the illegal immigrants they are protecting while the real people that need the help is been left out.

It seems that in our nation were Americans work, pay taxes and are discriminated to benefit those that are not even here in the nation with a legal status.

When my now wife went thru the legal process, renewing her green card, court/attorney fees reaching many thousands, on top of her holding a job and paying taxes her entire time here, she didn't received a single penny from the government.

I applaud this.

Then again, the left doesn't seem to care about the plight of people like my wife and where they come from, because she isn't Mexican or a refugee. And interestingly, that actual has a more racist/xenophobic undertone than anything coming from the right. The left actually gives preference and handouts to immigrants based on where they comes from. The left doesn't give two #'s about the plight of legal immigrants coming here from Russia or China or Indonesia or Poland or Ukraine, etc, but puts almost their entire focus towards Mexicans and Middle Easterners.

And that is exclusive, not inclusive. In action, they severely limit any legal immigration from numerous countries which don't offer political upside while giving heavy favoritism to those south of our border. Our immigration system actually heavily favors Mexicans, words you'll never hear on tv though.

Not my wife but her sister only made it here by winning the green card lottery. Why? Because America doesn't accept many legal immigrants from her country. And they aren't close enough to walk across the border. Imagine if we accepted so few Mexicans that many had to hope to win the green card lottery. Left would be in an uproar over...."racism". Yet the left employs and has employed those same strategies for years.

So my wife had to go thru all the hoops, pay thousands, hire multiple attorneys, numerous court appearances, all while holding a job and needing to speak English fluently to hold that job yet she sits here and sees all this talk about "give illegals more and more". She was left out of that conversation. Her country and many others are left out of that conversation. Hence my green card holding immigrant wife is an emphatic Trump supporter who also supported the travel ban. Another thing you'll never hear on the MSM.

Legal immigrants must also have sponsor which must agree to be financially liable for 5 years if I understand correctly.

No one has been upholding this requirement of the law.

Did bill Clinton really say that!? he`s lucky Hillary didn`t find out about it or he would be in deep doo doo.

Thanks, I have a friend that became a legal citizen in this nation by legal means, yes she also spend thousands of dollars to become legal and nobody gave her a penny to help either.

My friend first vote as a legal American citizens was for Trump.

All legal migrants that has become American citizens in this nation with not financial help from the federal government should stand up and demand a refund for playing by the rules and laws.


Is unfair that some chosen ones get a free ride and while those that are doing everything by the law are punished.
